✨Hello! Here's the Unlocking Your Abilities Workbook!

It has made its way to a few schools already and I would love to see this in the hands of as many people as possible. It's an excellent resource, basically a 101 course to help you in every aspect of job seeking. Check it out in the bio-link. Contact me for wholesale orders!

I've been breaking my photo habit this summer, I have caught a few moments that I want to share for funsies. Heading to the Neerchokikoo powwow Saturday and excited to help out and hang out.

I've been spending more time connecting with people and experiences, taking more time being in community and doing volunteer work with some fantastic people.

Working on the Reclaiming the Cascades Anthology! So grateful to the people I have met and it's really kept my head above water to have this work to sit with. Wado to new and old friends. ✨

About Unlocking Your Abilities: Keys to Career Successes
This book was originally created with materials used for the purpose of Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation to remove barriers and to assist individuals in gaining self sufficiency in a career field. I was encouraged to offer the resources to others outside of local classrooms in Washington State. We hope it helps you in your career search efforts!

This book is intended for all ages, from high school to elders who want to work on developing a portfolio to help them see themselves more clearly. This book can help to start a career or change a career to tailor to unique abilities. My goal is to help people see who they are and realize they have skills and knowledge that they may not already see as useful in their employment.

About the Author

She has devoted over 17 years to working in Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation and is currently working as an instructor at the Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Institution of the Northwest Indian College.

Thrilled to welcome Shilo George to the Hawkeye collective! She found us through and I am so grateful! Wado to you Shilo, to Mercatus, and to our ancestors for aligning us!! Here are some of their art, photos, and logos as a peek into what’s in store.

Shilo George, MS (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist, author, and consultant with Southern Cheyenne-Arapaho and Irish/Scottish heritage. A conceptual artist with a passion for bold, vibrant colors and geometric patterns, their work is a celebration of connection, identity, and cultural heritage. Their art draws inspiration from childhood memories—like sneaking their mom’s markers as a toddler to doodle on anything she could get her hands on (including her face!)—and from the calm, joyful moments spent watching their mom and auntie color on camping trips.

Now, Shilo is stepping into the publishing world, partnering with Hawkeye Publishing—a fierce, Native-owned press that amplifies voices often unheard—to create a series of culturally rooted coloring and activity books. Her first project, a geometric coloring book, invites everyone to play with color, relax, and find their own rhythm. This series is just the beginning; Shilo envisions Native-centered books for all ages that spark joy, honor culture, and provide introspective spaces where people can unwind and connect to something greater than themselves.

Whether teaching, consulting, or creating, they believe that healing and justice are woven into every line, every color, and every page. Her art, infused with textures and themes from their lineage, serves as a visual and emotional tribute to their ancestors’ strength, community values, and a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of all things. Shilo brings color, queerness, and a touch of rebellion to every project, making art that reflects her identity while offering space for others to explore theirs.
