ACWA Power, a private water desalination company, a leader in the energy transition and a first mover into green hydrogen, has completed the refinancing of the Rabigh 3 Independent Water Project (IWP). In a press release, ACWA said the refinancing was executed through a capital-markets-led approach, anchored by the issuance of a long-term senior secured project bond that achieved a high investment-grade credit rating from one of the top global rating agencies.

Saeta Yield, a Masdar company, has successfully closed the €340 million refinancing of clean energy assets in Portugal and has secured a €200 million RCF in Spain, as it looks to grow its project footprint and execute its expansion strategy. IFC has recently partnered with AMEA Power, a renewable energy developer, and Kyuden International Corporation of Japan to build a large-scale solar power plant and battery energy storage system (BESS). TotalEnergies and Aljomaih Energy & Water win a 400 MW solar project in Saudi Arabia, after the consortium is selected by the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) under the country’s National Renewable Energy Program. The As Sufun plant, located in the Hail region, is expected to begin delivering power to the grid in 2027.

ACWA Power and Bapco Energies have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to build a large-scale solar power plant with battery energy storage in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. With a planned capacity of up to 2.8 GW, the project will be developed in multiple phases. Once operational, all electricity generated will be transmitted to Bahrain—primarily to Bapco Energies’ load centers—effectively enabling Bahrain to import clean energy from Saudi Arabia.

Arctech has backed a 1.2 GW Faris PV project, also referred to as the PIF6 PV Project umbrella, in Saudi Arabia. The award comes from China Energy International Engineering (Energy China). The trackers to be supplied are Arctech’s Skyline II – a solar tracking system engineered to steer extreme wind loads, ensuring safety and stability in windswept desert environments.

ACWA Power, Badeel and SAPCO, a subsidiary of Aramco, secure $8.2 billion financing to develop 15 GW of renewable energy projects in Saudi Arabia, accelerating the kingdom’s clean power expansion. Türkiye successfully awarded 650 MW of solar capacity through its YEKA (Yenilenebilir Enerji Kaynak Alanı) program, attracting $400 million in investment, after cancelling two projects from its initial plan to allocate 850 MW across 10 solar projects. The program designates pre-licensed zones for large-scale renewable energy investments by the private sector across provinces such as Bolu, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Manisa, and Van.
