❌ People don't care about how educated you are in your industry. They only care about the solution to their problem.

In my opinion, the people who feel the need to "sound smart" are also the people who want to be validated for their intelligence. In other words - they have insecurities. Oops, I said it... 🙊

To elaborate on this story, it wasn't just the big words that drove me away; it was their demeanour and the awkwardness I felt being in their presence. We simply weren't vibing on the same wavelength!

If you want to reach a wider audience, projecting your wealth of knowledge won't get you there. Instead, focus on S.I.R.

👉🏼 Keep it Simple: Ensure your message is easily understood by a diverse range of people, including potential customers who may not be familiar with your industry.

👉🏼 Be Inclusive: Make everyone feel welcome and understood, regardless of their prior knowledge or experience. Not everyone is on the same level as you.

👉🏼 Stay Relatable: Use language that speaks to your target audience. Not only does this make you more approachable, but it also cultivates trust and authenticity, which are crucial for building lasting customer relationships.

Double tap if you agree. 💚

Want your content to stand out? Here are some tips to consider in your next post. 🙈

👉🏼 Use high colour contrast - The higher the contrast, the easier it is to read and the more your content will stand out.

👉🏼 Stick within the margins - try to keep elements within the 1:1 aspect ratio. This way it won't get cut off in the grid view.

👉🏼 Add overlay on images - Either lower the transparency or place a solid element behind the text.

👉🏼 Keep it neat - Cursive fonts had their moment last year but I'm telling you, less is more! If you MUST, only use them as an accent.

👉🏼 Pair fonts correctly - Have contrast in font weight and size for balance, and keep your body text neutral.

👉🏼 Use line breaks - Make your content digestible and scannable by breaking it up into paragraphs, especially in your captions.

👉🏼 Use left alignment - This applies mostly to long-form content. Left align your text if you're using more than 3 lines.

Are you using each format to its full potential? 🤔

Just because I've provided you with a list of recommendations, it doesn't necessarily mean it should ONLY be used for that particular type of content. I've seen memes do well in carousels and tweets going viral on reels.

Even though they all serve different purposes, it's about knowing exactly WHO you're posting for because what may work for me may not work for you.

So use this guide as a starting point and don't be afraid to test them all out! It's about trial and error and gaging what resonates with your audience.

And remember, Instagram is supposed to be a fun platform! We're not here to nurture the algorithm. We're here to nurture our tribe. 💪🏼

What type of format works best for you? Let me know in the comments. 👇🏼

Selling is not just a skill. 🫢

It's also psychology. Disclaimer, I am not a psychologist. These are purely based on my experiences.

For 10+ years I used to work in face-to-face sales and I quickly learned that sales is more than just a numbers game; it's a psychology game. 🧠

When you focus on building genuine relationships, they'll keep coming back.

When you show your authentic self, they'll start trusting you.

When you solve their problems, they'll remember you.

When you actively listen to their problems, they'll feel appreciated.

Don't just show up with the intention of making sales, show up with the intention of being a friend. 👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼

And remember... trust is earned, not given.

🚫 No strategy = no success. Allow me to paint you a picture.

It's Friday night and your friend sends you the location of this new restaurant she wants to check out, but you're not familiar with the area. What do you do? Drive aimlessly, without direction and hope you'll eventually get there? 😂

No, you'll most likely grab your phone and punch the address into Google Maps right? 🤷🏻‍♀️

This same concept applies to social media. To achieve success, you need a strategy to guide you towards your destination. Without a defined plan, you'll be posting content without clear goals or direction and may even attract the wrong crowd.

So yes, if you want to build an online presence and drive more revenue, you need a roadmap.

Double tap if you agree. 💚

In my opinion, the word 'friendship' has many layers, 🧅 each representing a different level of connection.

Understanding these different levels of connection has helped me appreciate the relationships I have with people and recognise their place in my life. It has also helped me figure out where to invest my time and energy.

Speaking openly, I have a REALLY small circle of friends and I genuinely prefer it this way. I'd rather be surrounded by people who embrace me for who I am, respect my choices, and allow me to express myself fully without feeling judged.

It's so much more liberating when you don't have to put on a facade or try to impress others to gain external validation because that s**t can be exhausting! Am I right?! 😰

While it is good to have a diverse range of friends in your life, it's also important to be mindful of where you direct your time and energy, and whether that bond is helping your personal growth or draining your energy.

So take a moment to think about the people in your life and the different layers of connection you have with them. Do you feel comfortable being your authentic self around them or do you feel compelled to wear a mask?

I cried... 😭

I'm 32 and still cried over a kids movie last week...

I've seen my fair share of movies in my time, but Avatar 2 still managed to hit me in the feels...

I believe that storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have to connect with our audience. When we tell a story, we create an emotional connection that goes beyond the product or service we're trying to sell.

And that's the thing about James Cameron's films - they take you on an emotional journey. They have strong storytelling and well-developed characters that make you invested in their journeys. ✨

So the next time you create a piece of content, take a moment and ask yourself: "Will this educate, inspire, or entertain my audience?"

The key here is to turn inwards, not outwards.

You don't need more followers to make money. You need more customer satisfaction.

Consider this: Would you rather have 100 people who just browse your content or 10 loyal customers who repeatedly purchase from you? I think the latter...

So if you're struggling to convert with your 800 followers, what makes you think you'll convert with 20k?

And remember, your worth isn't defined by your follower count, but rather by the positive impact you make on their lives.

Comment 🍄 if you agree.

Have a glorious day!

Here are reasons why you're not growing on Instagram (bonus tip at the end 🫢).

You're not consistent: Consistency is key to growing your Instagram account. Whether you decide to post three times a week or daily, stick to it.

Your captions lack context: Captions allow you to provide context and personality to your content, so add a little colour in this section! Like literally, add some emojis. 🤗

You're not engaging with your audience: If someone took the time to leave a comment or a DM (no matter how small 🔥/😍/❤️), reply back (unless they're spam or trolls having a bad day...). This is how you build engagement, relationships and trust.

You don't have a strategy: How can your business achieve success without a plan or goal? It's the same with Instagram. You need a strategy.

Your profile is not optimised: Treat your profile like your storefront. It only takes visitors a few seconds to decide whether or not to hit the follow button.

You want more followers: Firstly, let me ask you this. Why? If you're not converting with your existing followers, what makes you think you're going to convert with more followers? Focus on the people in front of you first before seeking out more.

Up next - I'm spilling the tea on what's more important than followers. 😉
