It’s Flag Day! 🇱🇺
As we count down to National Day, today we’re celebrating the red, white, and sky blue tricolor that proudly flies across the Grand Duchy.
The colors date back to the 19th century and are inspired by the coat of arms of the House of Luxembourg. Red symbolizes strength and bravery, white stands for peace and honesty, and blue represents perseverance and loyalty.
Fun fact: In the U.S., Flag Day was first proposed in 1885 by Bernard J. Cigrand — a Wisconsin schoolteacher often called the “Father of Flag Day.” A beautiful reminder that pride in national symbols crosses oceans and generations.
