In media strategy, the challenge isn't just knowing the metrics—it's explaining them clearly. We recently used this slide for a client pitch, and their initial feedback was, "Please stop confusing us with industry jargon!" Lol.

It was a powerful reminder: Our job is to simplify, not complicate.

The graphic is our internal breakdown of the essential difference between GRP and TRP, designed to show clients exactly where their money is going and why.

Gross Rating Points (GRP): Measures total impressions across a broad population. It's great for overall brand awareness but doesn't guarantee your message is reaching the people who actually need to buy your product. (The "Wide Net" approach).

Target Rating Points (TRP) on the other hand is the strategic focus. TRPs measure impressions delivered only to your defined target demographic. It ensures budget efficiency and drives actual business results. (The "Spear Fishing" approach).

When we prioritize TRPs over vanity GRP numbers, we move from being media vendors to being strategic partners. It proves that we're focused on impact and ROI, not just raw exposure.
