Insects are so cool! On a recent visit to the , and I got to hang out with some incredible insects. Millipedes, death-feigning beetles, and more made for a fun evening. Lots of people, even animal lovers, tend to shy away from insects, calling them creepy crawlies and such…especially the big ones. But me? I think they are awesome!

Getting to spend some time on the ice shelf was SUCH a joy! We got to meet multiple penguin species we hadn’t met before, and totally bonded with Littlefoot, a rather famous and very personable penguin.

I got to spend some time with the dingos ! Check out the cuteness! Also, did you know that to pluralize “dingo,” you can use “dingos” or “dingoes,” but sadly not “dingi” or “dinguses.”

Happy Red Panda Monday! It is red panda birth season, so I’m throwing it back to my time with the little ones when Zuko and Azula were little, and then baby Miso joined them! On today’s episode of Rossifari Zoo News, we share a lot of stories, but we also say goodbye to this beautiful girl. Marie was a sweet red panda I got to spend lots of time with, and I’m so sad she is gone. Her team took the absolute best care of her. She was also an incredible mother to her three cubs. She is so greatly missed.

Happy Red Panda Monday from Poppy and Kalden, the dynamic duo ! When Poppy’s mom passed away, the zoo hand-reared her, but they also brought in Kalden from . He’s an older male who has been teaching Poppy how to be a panda. In return, Poppy has brought out a more youthful and playful side to the older Kalden! This relationship is adorable and, as you can see in these pics, very comfortable! How you have a great start to your week! Happy belated birthday (yesterday) to the littlest cutie out there, Ren! She’s doing such a great job being extra adorable, and has grown into her shy but spicy personality. Getting to visit her repeatedly over this first year of her life has been such a joy!
