“NEXT! MOVE ALONG!” It was their turn to go in. A man with a red beard almost pushed Papa and his boys through the gate. It took a second or two for their eyes to adjust to the darkness inside the Temple, but in time, they could see and moved along as commanded by the gruff red haired man.
Inside the Temple, it was cooler, there was less noise, and there was a smell of incense and roasting meat. Eli was glad to be inside, deciding that anything was better than being out there with the crowds. Papa was talking to a man. He was dressed in dark robes, and he had a breastplate on his chest that was so amazing, all set with different-colored gems, and gold threads were woven into it. He was wearing a high cloth hat that had many colors in its rim, too.
Papa came to the boys and explained that this man was the priest who would be performing the ceremony for the family. He held his finger up to his lips and whispered, “Shhh ...”
The Priest then took Arni by his ears – he was not careful with him – and he dragged Arni (a young lamb) over to a huge stone altar. Arni didn't understand…

Nestled inside the covers of this little book is a story about a beautiful lamb that was born into the flocks of a gentle, jolly, and devout Jewish shepherd. The lamb is named Arni. “A spotless lamb at last!”
Arni has an enemy who vowed to destroy him, this orphaned lamb is NOT spotless, filled with evil and envy. He causes “the Spotless One” much trouble. Arni sets out to find his father. Along the way he meets Hiram a Soldier Ant, a cross-eyed horse Ozias, and Arni meets Jesus.
Arni gets lost, the Shepherd must search for him “You must have 99 other lambs in the meadow, why search for the one?” But search he must. There is more to the story; love, adventure, and a grand ending - any child will love knowing the rest of this charming story.
