There are eternal truths governing the principles of gender and marriage between a man and a woman. However, do we fully comprehend why these are so vital? Why is gender essential? Why is the pattern of marriage so important?

In this first-of-its-kind guide, “Consider Yourself as Eve” seeks to illuminate these doctrines by considering how we may live the temple’s template of spiritual development, especially as women. Along the way, we discuss many other questions, including: What specifically is the temple designed to teach us? What do the symbolic signs, laws, and tokens presented in the temple endowment ceremony represent in our everyday lives? How do we receive transformative grace through the atonement of Jesus Christ? What are the characteristics of feminine vs masculine spirit? What is the stewardess-ship of women complementary to the stewardship of men? How is embodying femininity key to our spiritual development as women?

With a heavy emphasis on scripture and illustrative personal experiences of the author, this book expounds deeper doctrines with the hope that all women will be empowered to pursue their own journey of developing in the pattern given by Jesus Christ. What is the heroine's journey?

The Heroine’s Journey originated as a response to Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, which focused primarily on a male protagonist's path of adventure, challenge, and triumph. Feminist scholars and storytellers noticed that this model didn't fully capture the unique inner journey many women experience.

Maureen Murdock, a Jungian psychotherapist, developed the Heroine’s Journey in her 1990 book The Heroine’s Journey: Woman’s Quest for Wholeness. She described it as a spiritual and psychological path where a woman moves away from traditional, patriarchal expectations, reconnects with her feminine essence, and integrates both feminine and masculine aspects within herself. Unlike the Hero’s external battles, the Heroine’s Journey is often inward, emotional, and focused on healing and wholeness.

In short, the Heroine’s Journey is a feminine-centered framework for transformation, born from the need to tell women's stories of healing, self-discovery, and empowerment.
