PAGASA WEATHER BULLETIN (11 AM UPDATE)
As of 11 AM on Thursday, “Fung-Wong” slightly intensifies while moving northwestward near Yap, Micronesia
• Fung-Wong has maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and central pressure of 996 hPa.
• This tropical cyclone (TC) will continue moving northwestward today, the generally west northwestward for the remainder of the forecast period. On the track forecast, this TC is forecast to enter the PAR tomorrow (07 November) late evening or Saturday (08 November) early morning.
• Once inside the PAR, the domestic name “Uwan” will be assigned to this TC.
• Although the uncertainty in track and intensity forecast is typically high for day-4 and day-5 forecasts, there is an increasing chance of landfall on Monday (10 November) over Northern or Central Luzon.
• In terms of intensity, this TC is forecast to rapidly intensify and may reach typhoon category tomorrow and super typhoon category on Saturday. It may also make landfall at or near its peak lifetime intensity.
