Influenced by legends like Rage Against The Machine, The Prodigy, and M.I.A.’s Born Free era, DISOBEY is us, fully charged. It’s distorted bass lines, raw vocals, heavy drums, and even heavier truths.”

For this year’s International Women’s Day ( ), we are thrilled to announce our latest signing, Anastasia Petrova aka Ocevnside Clvb. A producer, artist, songwriter and total go-getter, Ana first impressed us at a song camp in 2023 and has been building up her repertoire ever since, including work with Tyler Shaw, Serena Ryder, and Andrea Ramolo, whose track “Golden” was featured during the Olympic Games in Paris coverage.
A classically trained pianist and vocalist, Ana is a graduate of Harris Institute for the Arts (Toronto) where she studied audio production. She brings her finely tuned ear and unique blend of contemporary pop, singer-songwriter and K-Pop chops to every collaboration and co-writing session. We love her attitude, her songwriting and her production instincts and the way she collaborates with others in the creative space.

Speaking of creatives in our space, we’d also like to recognize some other fabulous international babes of glory... Witch Prophet, SUN SUN, Lana Winterhalt, Skye Wallace, Arielle Soucy, Thunder Queens, Ellen Froese, Absolute Treat and the entire Twin Fang Records crew! Plus shout out to our whole licensing team who are all ladies.

It’s all good in our hoodie! We are celebrating our fifth anniversary AND five (technically six) years of this iconic design by one of our very own writers, Lyle Bell, pictured here wearing his art on his sleeve (well, technically his chest).

Music Publishers Canada (MPC) is now accepting applications for our 2025 Women in the Studio National Accelerator.

The program will focus on topics including technical and songwriting skills, branding and financial literacy and will offer opportunities for creative collaborations.

Please note: This program is intended for producers who are already producing for others and have mid- to high-level proficiency in a DAW (digital audio workstation) such as Ableton, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, or similar programs.

We encourage applications from individuals who have historically been underrepresented in these spaces and who remain so today.

The Women in the Studio National Accelerator 2025 is supported by Foundation, and the Government of Canada, and . MPC would also like to thank and Compass Rose Group.

It’s been a busy week for our President, Kim Temple who organized and played in the Score Sheet Summer Classic, a charity hockey game raising funds for musicians in crisis through The Unison Fund with composer friend Darren Fung (Photos 1 + 2), moderated a panel at (Photo 3, taken by Brad Ardley), and celebrated Women In Music Canada with honourees.
