When uncertainty clouds the horizon, people look for light. A single spark can illuminate the darkest path, just as a single story can awaken a nation. For generations, journalism has carried that flame, passing it from one storyteller to the next in an unending pursuit of truth.

A single fact can shake a nation more than a thousand lies can silence it. Before the first ray of sunlight can be seen, countless stories have already been gathered, verified, and prepared for the public—asked by those courageous enough to write what others hesitate to say.

Before this day ends, let us recognize that the nation commemorates the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘆, established under 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟭𝟰𝟰𝟬 to recognize the vital role of student journalists and campus publications in safeguarding the expression to speak.

Because, when campus press freedom is upheld, truth is free to challenge and illuminate what others seek to conceal.

The wait is finally over! After weeks of witnessing exceptional displays of journalistic talent, and careful evaluation, we are delighted to welcome the newest members of 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐒. The butterflies who were out there have now answered the call. The evidence led us to talent. Your passion led you here. Now, proudly let your stories elevate new heights.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to those individuals who played an important role during this selection process. We sincerely appreciate the effort each of you invested.

As we look forward to this journey, remember— butterflies were never meant to stay inside their cocoons. Neither were stories meant to remain unwritten. Every wingbeat is a reminder that growth begins the moment we dare to emerge. Your wings have now been found—it's time to see how far they can take you.

𝗞𝗦𝗧𝗛𝗦' 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗪𝗔𝗠-𝗞𝗞𝗜’𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗱-𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿

Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay — Reverend Eduardo Official III of Youth With A Mission King’s Kids International (YWAM KKI) Philippines-Mindanao, anchored a teaching seminar on a God-centered view of life for Senior High School (SHS) students to navigate their purpose, identity, and moral decision-making on July 15, 2026.

In Rev. Eduardo’s speech, he highlighted three key points on how life must be seen from God’s view.

“As we go on forward, we must remember; life is a test, life is a trust, and life is temporary,” he quoted.

He also noted every individual was born wonderfully, fearfully, and purposely, according to God’s plan. “Your birth was not random. You are not an accident,” he said.

Students, faculty, and staff then engaged in prayer, united, and reflected on understanding that their worth and purpose are rooted in their Creator.

The event concluded as Rev. Eduardo along with his team then distributed brochures to students to write a letter about their faith and prayers.

“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐚𝐭.”

Have you ever noticed how we treat the people we love? We make sure they are fed, cared for, and comforted. We remember what they like and what they don’t like. We notice such intricate details that sometimes we forget to notice ourselves too. Sometimes we overlook people by what they do or what they eat. But we need to remember to check ourselves first.

Nutrition is what makes our body flourish. Our body is a remarkable storyteller and every breath is a promise. A promise that it will keep showing up for us even in days when we don’t return the favor. Yet too often, we reward its loyalty with a bag of chips for lunch instead of a nutritious meal, or a sugary drink instead of a nice glass of water.

Imagine your body as a garden. Flowers cannot bloom when they are watered with drinks full of sugar, nor can vegetables thrive in soil filled with neglect. They need patience and nourishment. And we too, are no different. Every meal we eat plants a seed of energy. Every nutritious choice helps water our future. The goal isn’t to eat perfectly— it’s to choose wisely more often than not. After all, one healthy meal won’t transform your life any more than one unhealthy snack will ruin it. The magic lies in the choices we repeat everyday.

𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍?

For two days, classrooms were filled with nothing but the sound of turning pages and deep sighs. It was the kind of silence that echoed deeply among the corners of the pathways—a silence interrupted by silent prayers and last minute reviews. Every student came prepared in different ways—some with color coded notes and some with their unbothered attitudes.

Funny enough, the summative tests did not end when the bell rang. They continued outside the classroom, where every student's memory was tested on how many questions they got correct. Half of the students laughed the pressure off while some quietly sat in the corners. The school became chaotic and somehow comforting. Soft murmurs could be heard “𝘼𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙥, ‘𝙙𝙞 𝙖𝙠𝙤 𝙣𝙖𝙜 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩”, while staring off into space.

A few years from now, each student probably won't remember what they answered. Instead they’ll remember staying up late to review, getting a good luck text from their inspiration, the collective sigh after the last subject, and the relief of knowing that they survived a series of pressure.
