*Bharti Airtel partners with IBM to strengthen Airtel Cloud*

Bharti Airtel has announced a partnership with IBM to enhance Airtel Cloud with advanced AI and hybrid cloud technologies.

This collaboration will help businesses in sectors like banking, healthcare, and government run critical workloads securely and scale their AI capabilities.

Airtel will also expand its availability zones from 4 to 10 and set up new Multizone Regions in Mumbai and Chennai, strengthening India’s cloud infrastructure.

Together, Airtel and IBM aim to drive digital innovation and AI transformation across India.

Airtel Business has secured a multi-year deal to design, build, and operate the Indian Railway Security Operations Centre (IRSOC) — a 24x7 cybersecurity ecosystem protecting the digital backbone of Indian Railways.

The system will safeguard critical data, including passenger, payment, and operational information across 26 locations and 160,000 employees. Using AI-driven tools and Make-in-India technologies, Airtel will provide unified visibility, real-time threat detection, and strong endpoint protection — ensuring secure and seamless digital services for over 1 billion Indians.

Bharti Airtel announced that its anti-fraud measures have reduced customer financial losses by 68.7% and overall cybercrime incidents by 14.3%, according to data from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs.
Since launching India’s first network-based AI spam detection solution in September 2024, Airtel has blocked over 48.3 billion spam calls and 3.2 lakh fraudulent links. In May 2025, it introduced a world-first service to detect and block malicious links in real time, free for all Airtel users.
Vice Chairman & MD Gopal Vittal said Airtel will continue to innovate and collaborate with authorities to eliminate spam and financial frauds from its network.
