🎉 Maine knows how to throw a festival — and the 16th Annual Maine Whoopie Pie Festival was everything we hoped it would be (and more)! From classic chocolate and peanut butter to wild blueberry and red velvet, we sampled our way through a Whoopie pie wonderland 🧁

But it wasn’t just sweets… the Piscataquis County Fairgrounds were packed with everything from beef jerky and French fries to artisan soaps, T-shirts, handmade crafts, and local brews. It was truly a slice of Maine at its finest. 🇺🇸

And yes… we came home with way too many Whoopie pies. (Is that even possible?)

We’re headed to the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival tomorrow—and we’re about to show you what this Maine tradition is all about !🎉🍪

This sweet celebration is in its 16th year, and with over 30 bakers bringing their best creations, you know we’re about to sample some serious goodness.

We haven’t been traveling much the past couple of weeks—we just got back to Maine for the summer! But this festival is the perfect way to kick things off. 🧁💙

🍫Did you know? A whoopie pie is made of two soft, cake-like cookies (usually chocolate) with sweet, creamy filling in the middle—basically a dessert sandwich. And in 2011, Maine made it official: the whoopie pie is our state treat! 🙌

🚐After 8 months on the road, crossing the country and chasing new horizons… we just rolled back into our home state.

Something about seeing that state line sign just hits different—like a welcome home hug from the road. 🚐💚

A Peaceful Retreat on Virginia’s Eastern Shore 🌿🐐

🌾Our overnight at Arlington Farm in Cape Charles, Virginia, through Harvest Hosts was pure magic. From a sunset golf cart ride through peaceful trails to the joy of meeting free-roaming goats, every moment felt like a breath of fresh air.

🥚Their farm store was a delight—our haul of gourmet goods included: fresh eggs, handmade tea, a healing homemade comfrey salve, dandelion honey & we couldn’t say no to a few whimsical goat 🐐 stickers for the rig.

This wasn’t just a place to park—it was a soul-filling stop where hospitality, nature, and a chance to meet lovely people came together beautifully.

A favorite moment from our stay? Swapping our sourdough starter for a kombucha SCOBY. We’ve never brewed kombucha, but this felt like the perfect place to start.

We love supporting small farms through Harvest Hosts, and Arlington Farm was an unforgettable standout.
