📸These photos are exactly why the Acadia carriage roads are so special. They feel like you’re miles from everything, yet you’re riding on a network of historic roads built specifically to enjoy the park. 🚲🌲

One of our favorite rides in Acadia National Park is the Eagle Lake loop. We usually ride it counterclockwise so we can tackle the biggest hills early and enjoy the rest of the ride. The full loop is about 5.5 miles and offers beautiful lake views, forest scenery, and some of Acadia’s iconic stone bridges.

💡 Did you know? Acadia’s famous carriage roads were funded by philanthropist John D. Rockefeller Jr. and include 45 miles of car-free roads designed for enjoying the landscape at a slower pace. Many of the hand-built stone bridges are nearly 100 years old and still in use today.

Our biggest tip? Start early. We wrapped up around 10:30 AM, and the trails were already getting noticeably busier. Morning rides here are hard to beat.

When your emergency contact is the one who wants to try flight school. 😆😳

Neither of us had ever hang glided before, but that’s the thing about adventures—you don’t have to start as an expert. You just have to start.

We spent the day at Kitty Hawk Kites Flight School in the Outer Banks learning the basics, running down the dunes, and getting our very first flights off the ground.

Was it a little intimidating? Yep.

Was it worth it? Absolutely.

Sometimes the best memories begin with, “Why not?”

Eight months ago, we pointed the RV south.

Today, we crossed back into Maine. ❤️

🏔️ A walk through another world…

We skipped the trendy music on this one and left the experience exactly as we found it. We wanted you to really feel like you’re with us on this tour 🙌💙.

Every clip in this carousel is raw footage from our walk through Luray Caverns, so what you’re hearing is what we heard, and what you’re seeing is exactly what we saw.

Discovered in 1878, Luray Caverns is the largest cave system in the eastern United States and is filled with towering stalactites, stalagmites, underground pools, and formations that have been growing drop by drop for millions of years. Many of these formations weigh hundreds of tons and are stories high !

It’s easy to see why this place lands on so many Virginia bucket lists. Around every corner was another jaw-dropping formation that looked like something from a fantasy movie set.

🎟️ Admission is about $35 per person (we got a veterans discount) and includes access to the Car & Carriage Caravan Museum (worth the walkthrough) and the Toy Town Junction museum( skipped this - we’d had enough 😆).

⏰ Plan on about an hour for the self-guided tour, but if you’re anything like us and stop every few minutes for photos and videos, you’ll probably spend longer.
