Every child deserves to be celebrated... including a child born with Down syndrome. ​

When Sofia was born, her parents expected joy. Instead, they were met with clinical terms and quiet concern. But in this moving video, Sofia’s dad, Sergio — from our Fort Myers Playhouse — shares what he wishes every new parent could hear:​​

You’ll be great. Your child will be great. Life will be great.​

His words are a reminder that a Down syndrome diagnosis isn't the end of anything; it’s the beginning.​

Let's look at our episodes this month...​

We kicked off the month with an exciting pop-up podcast series, broadcasting live from the National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) Convention in Dallas! It was an incredible opportunity to connect with a wide range of inspiring voices within the community.​

We had the privilege of speaking with remarkable self-advocates like Sophia Kay Whitten and Grace Davis, who shared their personal journeys and powerful perspectives. We also heard from the dynamic sibling duo Annika and Aaron Soderfelt, whose bond and advocacy efforts brought so much energy to the conversation. Rounding out the lineup was the always-insightful Dr. Patricia Tice, who brought thoughtful expertise to the table.​

On top of our live coverage, we also shared the first episode of Season 3 of our podcast! In celebration of the back-to-school season, we kicked things off with a heartwarming and fun conversation featuring Mark and John Cronin from John’s Crazy Socks. Because back to school means back to socks!​
