Just like that—an entire world addicted to busyness stopped.
They had to face their uncomfortableness of being still. They had to spend a lengthy amount of time with those closest to them. They had to release things beyond their control.
Over time the uneasiness of being still faded and they realized the time with loved ones was a blessing.
Stillness became a joy.
As the screams of busyness and to-do lists quieted, they realized the loving voice of God was still there—even though they thought He had stopped speaking to them long ago.
A time of forced stillness, became a blessing that forever changed their life, their relationships, and their connection with God.
This season of stillness will end. Once it does, will we bow once again to the god of busyness, or to the God of peace who calls us to be still?
