Seems King Charles is weighing in against Alberta Sovereignty.

The grand chief of the Confederacy of Treaty 6 First Nations says King Charles "expressed his concern" after hearing about a separatist push in Alberta during a face-to-face meeting with Indigenous leaders on Wednesday.

Do you think equalization payments in Canada are unfair?

Don't bet on the federal conservative party to help you.

Never forget, Pierre Poilievre voted in favour of 2005 Bill C-25 (An Act to amend the Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act).

https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/votes/41/2/200

This act INCREASED Alberta's liability to pay equalization payments to the rest of Canada by increasing that very year's equalization budget by 24%.

It also solidified yearly increases of an additional compounding 3.5% per year.

But he wasn't alone. ALL the federal conservatives voted in favour of it. Including those elected to represent Alberta: Brian Jean, Rona Ambrose, Stephen Harper, Rob Anders, Jason Kenney, Michelle Remple(now Remple-Garner), and others who even today say they are acting in the best interests of Albertans.

The federal conservatives have always and will always sell out the interests of Albertans to buy votes for the conservative party in the east - even those members of the conservative party that are elected in Alberta.

This is just because for any federal party with the intent of forming the government, they MUST buy those votes or else lose the election.

But how does that help Albertans? It doesn't. It hurts us.

And saying 'better than the liberals!' is like arguing it's better to be eaten by a wolf than a bear.

It would be better to elect an Alberta specific party, like Quebec has the PQ.

But it's even better to choose Alberta Independence, so Albertans can decide the fate of Albertans.

Senator Paula Simons is a perfect example of what we don't want in Alberta, and what an Independent Alberta would eliminate: unelected legislators for life.

There's nothing democratic about her position, and it's yest another example of how Albertans will never have any democratic power if Alberta remain in Canada.

Senator Paula Simons went on CHED radio and unloaded on the Alberta Prosperity Project (APP) and the wider Alberta independence movement. In a few breaths, she painted the whole thing as xenophobic, racist, misogynist, anti-woman, transphobic, and homophobic. She even nodded toward the old standby a...

Ive never heard of private schools going on strike, or providing pornographic material to students without any consequences...

Maybe all our schools should privatized. That might fix this whole mess.

Here is what we should all be writing to our Alberta Government in light of the teachers strike.

Parents should have easier ability to home school.

It should be as easy as signing up on a website.

There should be a professionally made curriculum that parents can follow if they choose to, provided by the government.

And parents that homeschool are saving tax payers thousands of dollars by doing the work themselves.

So just as private schools get funds equal to 70% of what public schools get, so to should home schooling parents.

That will reduce costs, and might do a great job of shrinking classroom sizes.

Not one penny of Alberta money should go to a rail connecting national parks.

National Parks are under federal regulation.

If they want provincial money, they should become a provincial park.

Jasper will ask the province to include it in the fast-track timeline for its railway plans. Some stakeholders are saying it's vital to the town's long-term recovery, while others are worried about costs and a lack of space to lay track.

If there are UCP supporters who are serious about independence, these are what they should be demanding at all upcoming AGMs.

1. Alberta Pension Plan. This 100% has to be in place before a referendum on independence. You will not get a yes vote if the 'leaning towards independence' demographic feels uncertain about their pensions.

Tell the UCP to do it today. We dont need a referendum on the pension. They're the government. We elected them. They can act on our behalf to make it happen now.

2. Alberta Police Service. All ready happening. Kind of. Tell the UCP to scrap the RCMP in Alberta today and have our new police service take it over.

3. A detailed report on how much every province has paid into federal revenue and how much the federal government has spent in each province goin back at least 20 years, but 70 or even 120 wpuld be better.

These numbers will be shocking, and it will help people realize how much we could afford on our own, and how we can easily replace every federal function with our own.

If we dont have these in place first, then an independence referendum is doomed, and we probably push the independence movement back 10 or 15 years. Additionally, most likely we won't get our own pension after a failed referendum. The govt will just say 'there clearly wasnt interest based on the poor showing at the independence referendum.'

When anyone says they want a strong, united Canada, what they actually mean is...

A Canada where Albertan votes continue to be counted after the decision is already made by the east.

A Canada where unelected Senators-for-life appointed by governments that the majority of Albertans oppose have the final say over any law that is passed federally.

A Canada that grows further and further into debt that Albertans must pay back their share of - despite not one Penny of that debt having ever been incurred by spending in Alberta.

A Canada that taxes Albertans over $50bn a year, but only spends $23bn of that in Alberta. The rest is spent in Eastern Canada where the controlling votes are.

A Canada that doesn't make the ability to transport goods from Alberta easier but nearly impossible.

A Canada that doesn't trade with us, but buys our largest export from our competitors instead.

Essentially, they are saying that they want Albertans to not have a meaningful say in their own future. They are saying what Canadians have always been saying to Albertans, "Shut up and pay."

Premier Smith said "if Prime Minister Mark Carney acts on the ideas in our communique today, that it would take the wind right out of any effort.”

“If we can find some support from the federal government on that, I think that’s all that the people of Alberta have been looking for.”

She is 100% wrong.

That is not all the people of Alberta are looking for.

We want a vote that actually affects change. We can't have that in Canada which is dominated by Eastern populations.

We dont want unelected Senators for life having power over our laws. We want democratic power and nothing less.

We want a government that doesn't overspend and carry massive levels of debt, burdening our children and making it more difficult for them to afford any services in the future.

We can't have any of those if we remain sub-sovereign to Canada.

I don't know why Premier Smith insists that we stay under Canada's boot. But that is increasingly not the desire of Albertans. They are seeing the benefits of sovereignty!

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said if Ottawa prioritized economic projects in the West, it would erode support for Alberta independence.

Did Premier Smith really just announce another 'Fair Deal Panel' to try to negotiate with Ottawa?

Haven't we seen what a waste of time that is 100 times before already?

Is Premiere Smith Kenney 2.0?

In a passionate address to Albertans earlier this week, Premier Danielle Smith outlined her vision for Alberta's future within Canada, addressing the province's frustrations with federal policies and the ongoing tensions between Alberta and Ottawa.
