South Sudanese pound continues to gain significant strength against US dollar on Tuesday.

As of Tuesday, May 21st, $100 exchanges at 220,000 SSP (selling) and 200,000 SSP (buying).

On Monday, May 20th, $100 dollar was 250,000 SSP (selling) and 280,000 SSP (buying).

On Friday last week, $100 dollar was 325,000 SSP (selling) and 345,000 SSP (buying).

The Ministry of General Education and Instruction has today warned public schools to stop charging school fees, demanding money from learners.

Minister Awut Deng Acuil urged all the schools' administrations across the country to register school children free of charge.

"So those who were still charging children with the school fees, it is illegal, and I would like us to adhere to the law," said Minister Acuil, "Today I'm calling upon the head teachers and all the teachers across the country, please stop this practice."

Acuil further warned private schools and partners to stop temporary construction of classes.

"We have stopped all construction of temporary spaces for learning, those who are constructed with iron sheet," she said, "You have seen the heat wave that has hit this country. The temperatures were too high, and we were pushed to close schools down."

WARNING TO GOVERNOR OF WARRAP STATE, HON. KUOL MUOR BY KIIR CHOL ‼

A senior lawyer Kiir Chol Deng had challenged green book resolutions in the warrap state .

The governor of Warrap state Hon Kuol Muor Muor had invented a green book that has mandated state government to execute the criminals in the state through firing squads.

Kiir warned the governor after the governor authorised Twic county commissioner to fire squatting the criminals .

Kiir said that green book is a violation of the constitution of the Republic of South Sudan as death sentences should be issued by competent court and to be signed by the president of the Republic .

General Akoi's liver transplant went successfully and he is back on his feet, healthy and strong. You are informed to gather at the Airport at 3:00 PM awaiting his arrival at 3:55 PM.

After his reception, the family will organize a Thanksgiving prayer to God for giving General Akoi another opportunity to continue living.

BREAKING: President Kiir assumes office as head of East Africa Community

In the 23rd Ordinary Summit of the East Africa Community Heads of State held today in Arusha, Tanzania, Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic of South Sudan assumed the Chairmanship of the East African Community.

President Kiir will lead EAC for 1 year term.

The East African Community (EAC) is a regional intergovernmental organization of 7 Partner States: The Republic of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda, the Republic of South Sudan, the Republic of Uganda, and the United Republic of Tanzania, with its headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.
