It’s colder than a well digger’s ass in the Klondike out there!!! I just came in from the back yard, where I was making sure the dogs did their duty. The outside temperature is -16F, with wind chill somewhere around -25. My extremities were beginning to feel numb when, out of nowhere, I started singing the chorus of a song out of the 50’s - a song that probably hasn’t been a conscious thought in about 60 years. All of a sudden I felt a blood rush bringing a welcome warming to my endangered extremities. And so I want to share my discovery with you, in case you have to go out today (or tomorrow, or the next day…). Play this song, learn the chorus, it’s really quite simple. And when your extremities begin to numb, just sing out:
“Ha, ha, ha, ha
DaaaaaaAyO
Juba, juba, juba, juba….”
And so on. You’re welcome.
SUPER rare clip from 1958.
