** New project Update **
With the van sold (a few years now), kids back in school and us back working we have only done a few trips away. We have been lucky to be able to use Kate's parents hybrid caravan and are gratedul to have that option. Move forward to this July and we will be tackling Cape York. Not wanting to put someone else's van through the same torment we used to do with our own we decided on a cheaper alternative that "should" handle the terrain and river crossings Cape York will throw at us.
Enter the "camper that Marketplace built"..... a cheap box trailer camper with majority of parts sourced from marketplace. This is an effort to make an affordable and hopefully indestructible camper capable of tackling the Cape for 4 weeks with a family of 5. Over the last few weeks i have been building this up from wheels and tyre upgrades, new bearings, axle flip, mouldy/torn camper canvas removal (to install RTT), plumbing up water system, wiring in 12v system and general repairs to make the camper ready to go.
Let me know if you are keen to see a build run down on YouTube and I can throw together a quick video. As for Cape York..... bring it on..... we are also tackling the challenge with our mates from (instagram) so make sure to head over and give them a follow 🍺🍺
