A tragic railway accident was reported in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, after an Intercity Express reportedly ran over a group of goats near a village. According to reports, around 20 to 35 goats were killed in the incident. Three women who were nearby reportedly had a narrow escape and avoided being hit by the train. The incident has left local residents shocked and saddened, especially as the animals could not be saved in time. In many villages, people and animals are sometimes seen near railway tracks, increasing the risk of serious accidents. The incident has also raised concerns about safety around railway tracks.

Saudi air defences successfully intercepted Houthi missiles over Jeddah early on 15 September 2026. The engagement formed part of a wider overnight barrage of missiles and drones that also targeted the King Khalid Air Base and other southern regions. Saudi Civil Defence issued and later lifted emergency alerts in Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu and several other cities after the attacks, which the Houthis claimed as retaliation for recent Saudi airstrikes in Yemen. Thirteen civilians were reported wounded in related strikes.
