: Starting May 6, and lasting approximately 2 weeks, Bridging North America will implement a lane shift on Sandwich Street northbound at John B Avenue. 🇨🇦

The east side of Chappell Avenue will be closed at Sandwich Street. This closure does not affect traffic on Sandwich Street for those travelling north or south. Residents on Chappell Avenue will have to use Prince Road to access Peter Street.

ICYMI: The City of Windsor is installing 10 new red light cameras bringing the total to 20 in the city.

The new locations were selected based on collision data provided by the Windsor Police Service and an examination by the city's vendor that installs the cameras, targeting areas where the data shows a high number of side-impact collisions.

The goals of red light cameras are to change driver behaviour, reduce angled collisions, and increase safety.

If a driver is caught running a red light under the program, a $325 ticket will be issued.

Starting April 1, 2025, garbage collection will follow a Tuesday-to-Friday schedule. Residents who previously had Monday collection will now have their pickup on Tuesday; Tuesday collection will shift to Wednesday; and so on. Additionally, the City will no longer collect garbage or yard waste from residential alleys. Residents who previously received alley collection must place all waste at the front curb by 6 a.m. on their designated collection day unless otherwise notified. These dates and details can be found in the 2025-2026 Waste Collection Calendar. If you have not received a calendar by March 30, 2025, please contact 311.

ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਈ ਇੱਕ ਘਾਤਕ ਟੱਕਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇੱਕ 28 ਸਾਲਾ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ 'ਤੇ ਬੰਦੂਕ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਕਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ 7 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਠੀਕ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਵਿੰਡਸਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਹਨ ਦੀ ਟੱਕਰ ਲਈ ਟੇਕਮਸੇਹ ਰੋਡ ਈਸਟ ਦੇ 4700 ਬਲਾਕ 'ਤੇ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਿਰਾਏ 'ਤੇ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਟਰੱਕ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਫੁੱਟਪਾਥ 'ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ, ਇੱਕ ਪੈਦਲ ਯਾਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਟੱਕਰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜੋ ਵਿੰਡਸਰ ਟ੍ਰਿਮ ਸਪਲਾਇਰ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾ ਗਿਆ।

While the main Jackson Park entrance and parking lot will be closed to vehicles to facilitate Bright Lights Windsor, there are several parking options nearby, all within a few minutes' travel to the site. These include, the Kennedy Collegiate parking lot, the parking lots near Parkside Tennis and Windsor Lawn Bowling, and the parking lots located at the Parks and Recreation Field House and Main Office on McDougall Avenue. Additionally, Transit Windsor's Transway 1C and 1A bus routes make stops near Jackson Park in both directions along Tecumseh Road East.
