Big time severe weather potential across portions of KS, OK, and maybe parts of Northern TX. Strong tornados and very large hail are on the table, mostly for Central OK. A threat for damaging winds will also be present. This one could be a wild one, if the cards fall the way the SPC believes they might.

As the storms continue to move across the Eastern states, the worst storms are forecast to be possible from Kentucky down into parts of Northern Alabama and Georgia! Still a strong tornado and damaging wind threat with this event, so be sure to keep up with any watches and warnings in this area!

Tomorrow (Thursday) is looking very concerning. Models are in general agreement that parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and parts of Louisiana will see strong rotating storms move through, with severe weather possible from the morning hours all the way through the evening and night as the system moves east. While there are still some discrepancies in the timing of storm initiation and location, any storm that takes root ahead of the main line of storms behind it will be in a very favorable environment for the development of tornadoes and severe hail.

Dangerous days ahead! Follow and Share to help others stay weather aware!

Severe weather continues to threaten the southern plains, Mississippi valley, and the south east! While many eyes are on tomorrow (Thursday), and rightfully so, today (Wednesday) will see a broad area of strong to severe storms from the Arklatex all the way to parts of North Carolina and Georgia. The Storm Prediction Center has expressed increased confidence in the potential for tornadoes and large hail today, especially in Arkansas and the Mississippi River valley. If you live in the highlighted areas, keep your eyes on the weather!

Yesterday saw tons of severe wind reports along with 12 reported tornadoes. Lots of damage reported in and around my area in the OKC metro. Power was out here for most of the night from a tornado in the area. More reports have been added to the total from this system today as the storms moved through Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. These storms are still ongoing, and will continue to move east.

The southern plains are going to fire up late this afternoon and evening. A derecho is forecast to manifest, causing strong damaging winds across a very large area. Secure loose outdoor objects and stay weather aware, especially if you are in the highlighted hatched areas.A strong tornado or two is also possible early in the storm's evolution, mostly around southwestern OK/TX panhandle border. I would be chasing myself, if my car wasn't in the shop.

Please follow and share to help others be weather-aware today! Here is the updated SPC tornado probability outlook for today (Thursday) as the storm system continues to track east! Most concerned for Mississippi and West to North Central Alabama throughout the evening and overnight, but anywhere in the highlighted areas could see some really strong storms. There is also still severe potential as far north as the Great Lakes, but it is mostly a straight-line, wind driven severe threat the further north you go, but tornados could still manifest even in the northern extent of the risk area with some of the more intense updrafts.

Severe weather is threatening the south once again over the next couple of days! Today (Wednesday) will see storms move through the southern plains into the Mississippi River valley with all severe hazards possible. Tomorrow (Thursday) those storms move into the gulf states with severe weather possible as far north as Ohio! Greatest tornado threat areas are highlighted in yellow in these outlooks from the SPC. If you live in ANY of the colors on this map, be extra weather aware!
