My first post of 2021 was a Henry Ford quote "Don't find fault, find a remedy."
Re: the vaccine, problem solving.

My last post of 2021 also a HF quote to sum up the year. This one was full of mistakes, learning, and growing. As my bulletin board says, mistakes are proof you are trying. Here's to embracing many more in 2022!

Properties of multiplication made visual!

Students used candy corns to create an array. Then, broke the array into two smaller arrays using a pencil. They noticed the product remains the same!

Before introducing any equations, we break down the meaning of each property:
✖️Distributive - share
✖️Associative - group
✖️Commutative - move
✖️Identity - mirror
✖️Zero - always zero

If you've ever done mental math for an equation like 15 x 6 by doing…
10x5= 50 and 5x6=30, then 50+30=80, you were using the distributive property!
