In 2024 we got 2 nominations and one award for Tune into Nature Podcast -

🌿 The Climate Award - Silver, 2024 New Zealand Podcast Awards
🌿 Finalist Best Non-Fiction Podcast & Best Concept 2024 NZ Web Fest
🌿 Best Independent Podcast - Finalist 2024 at NZ Radio and Podcast Awards

Lot of hard work and mahi went into creating the narrative styled show recorded mainly out in the field.
I went in with an aim to tell well produced stories about the people working to protect Aotearoa’s wildlife. Every moment spent on trekking out in the field to meet rangers, experts, kaitiaki guardians, volunteers and recording, editing the stories has been worth it. 🌿

So far we’ve featured over 60 people in our show - I’m sharing the awards with them and with our audience, supporters and well-wishers for listening to the show and providing feedback.

Lots more to learn and I’m happy with the work I’ve done as an independent producer so far and it’s humbling to hear positive feedback about the podcast - will keep working to create good stories. 💙

Thanks to Lotto NZ for funding our podcast and the great team at (Jeff, Lesley, Domi, Geoff and Arina), Prof Nancy Longnecker The Department of Science Communication New Zealand Festival of Nature Sciences at University of Otago University of Otago for their support.

Naga Harshietha - Thank you for being a 🏔️ of support and for coming out to the field and getting behind the scenes.✨

Meet our very famous underdogs- Red-billed Gulls 💥
They are declining in major colonies, but in Otago they seem to be doing well. One of their largest Otago colonies is on the Marina, right in Dunedin city. 🌿🌊

Listen to the story from Dr. Chris Lalas who’s been monitoring the birds in their nesting colonies in Otago for over two decades.

And if you’ve seen Red-billed Gulls nesting in the Dunedin city buildings, please reach out with your observations, that will help Chris’s project.

Happy to share a video trailer for the Season 2 (Streaming now!)🌿✨

For making 6 episodes of wildlife conservation podcast stories, I was grateful to meet and talk to many great inspiring people and community groups working out in the wild - braving the harsh weather and/or tough terrains - giving it all to protect Aoteaora’s wildlife and environment.

These are stories about the people in conservation and the wildlife they are working to protect.
🦎This season has a special focus on NZ’s ‘underdog’ wildlife - the lesser known species and features stories of our endangered Lizards, mysterious Peripatus and rare Seabirds like Westland Petrels and Fairy prions that nest only in small colonies on mainland NZ.
