SHOCKING UPDATE: A woman caught making out with her boyfriend in her car in the middle of Thika Road, consequently causing a traffic pile-up has been slapped with a six-month jail term and an alternative fine of Ksh20,000.

Appearing before the Makadara Law Courts, the woman pleads guilty to causing a disturbance and obstructing traffic at Thika Road Mall in Roysambu.

UPDATE: COTU boss Francis Atwoli has advised the government to be cautious in its approach to tax hikes as well as spying on M-PESA transactions, stating that they can be counterproductive.

He urges the government not to enact the Tax Laws (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill of 2020, which eliminated safeguards put in place by the government for salaried workers during the tough economic time..

Atwoli urges the government to crack down on outsourcing companies and formalize many jobs in the informal sector, instead of monitoring and investigating MPESA transactions.

He states that the government should ensure that the more than 5,000 outsourcing companies regularize their employees’ employment terms and conditions of work by ensuring that they pay all statutory deductions such as PAYE, NSSF, and NHIF, among others
