Nine Mile Weather Outlook (2026)

🚨Good Morning & Happy Friday!🚨

🌡️⬆️🌧️ Currently we are in the low-mid 50s with rain trying to make it past Spokane, but it keeps running into a wall. Spokane South has seen quite a bit of rain with .50”+ falling since yesterday evening.

🌤️⛅️🌡️⬆️ Our Friday weather will top out in the upper 60s to 70° today ➡️ it will remain cloudy this morning, but by this afternoon the sun will break through and give us a nice mid-late afternoon + perhaps another beautiful sunset. We are in the ⚡️THUNDERSTORM⚡️ bubble, BUT our chances for seeing one today are very slim ➡️ if you are heading West, you have a better chance of running into a storm later this afternoon.

💨 Winds today will be generally out of the South through late afternoon, and less than 7mph. As the upper level low continues to spin around, winds will veer from South to East to North by late afternoon/ evening.

👀 What’s Ahead 👀 - The Upper Level Low that is keeping us in an active weather pattern will be present through the weekend, into Monday, allowing for showers to pop up from time to time. As mentioned yesterday, our next chance for appreciable rain is Sunday night into Monday. 🚨NEXT WEEK - We can look towards warmer / dryer weather, and perhaps see 80° by the middle to the end of the week, with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s next weekend.

Rain showers moving from Southwest to Northeast and inching northward —- we may see a tiny bit of rain around dusk or after, but a better chance heading South.

🚨Good Morning!🚨

🌡️⬆️🌧️ Currently we are in the low-mid 50s with the last bit of rain moving through. Generally speaking, around .10” has fallen since midnight.

♒️ Air Quality today and for the foreseeable future will be GOOD! If that should change, I will bring it back into my forecast update, but if you don’t see it, you can expect good air.

🌤️⛅️🌡️⬆️ Our Thursday weather will top out in the upper 60s to 70° today ➡️ it will remain cloudy after this rain moves on, but some sun will peak through by mid to late morning, allowing the temps to rise a bit.

💨 Winds today will be generally out of the South-SW and breezy to 10-12mph at times through mid-afternoon(ish).

👀 What’s Ahead 👀 - Friday generally speaking will be on the dry side, with a chance for a shower, or two. It will not be a washout, though, but it is expected to be our chilliest day this week with highs in the mid-60s. We are looking at 70s over the Labor Day Weekend with a chance of showers around, but not bad if you want to be outside doing things to close out the Summer season. Right now, Sunday night is expected to be our next chance for appreciable rain, with next week drying out and perhaps returning tonight 80° by mid-week.

We’ve already had a dust storm advisory this evening and now we are part of a special weather statement for strong winds from a gust front and thunderstorms to our South. The storms don’t look like much on radar currently, but the wind will most likely pick up again between now and 930pm.

🚨Good Morning & Happy Wednesday!🚨

🌡️⬆️🌕 Currently we are in the low 50s with quick moving showers & storms to our West, with some rain headed our way this morning.

♒️ Air Quality today will be hazier early this morning, then with the showers moving through, will clear up nicely. The cooler weather has really helped fire fighters add to their containment of the biggest fires burning in the state.

🌤️⛅️🌡️⬆️ Our Wednesday weather will top out in the upper 60s to 70° today ➡️ a strong thunderstorm was quickly moving from South to North around the 530am time frame and has now weakened, but more quick movers are popping up in far Southern Spokane County, racing towards the North-NE. We are in the thunderstorm bubble currently, so we may get a very quick boomer that moves through, but that is more likely the further South and East you go. We are expected to see about an hour, or so, of rain around the 8am time frame this morning. After that swings through, we will be cloudy for a time, but become mostly cloudy with sun peaks this afternoon.

🌧️ Our next round of rain comes tonight and is expected to last through the late night, into early morning hours of Thursday, bringing our total rainfall for the event to approx .35”. That will be enough for the lawn and garden to get a good drink!

💨 Winds today we start SE and move to the South-Southwest by later this morning. Winds could gust to 10mph at times, especially in showers and any convection we see this morning.

👀 What’s Ahead 👀 - Active pattern will be with us at times through Monday with Thursday being the driest day of the next 5. Again, these are not expected to be all day, super wet rain events, outside of tonight, but showers and perhaps thunderstorms that move through - a very Fall-like pattern that can happen when you transition from Summer to Fall.

🌧️⛅️🌡️ ➡️ After Monday, we will see temperatures rebound slightly to the 70s, which is average / a little below average for this time of year.

We have some spotty rain showers moving up from the south, it looks worse on radar than it is. A lot of it is drying up as it continues. It’s trek North, we shall see if it makes it. There is also some embedded thunder and lightning, but that is mainly staying to our east. The storm prediction Center did move the thunderstorm bubble to include Nine Mile and points north and east…. I will update as we go, but don’t be surprised if we get a brief shower within the next couple of hours (by 3pm).

🚨Good Morning & Happy First day of Meteorological Fall!🚨

🌡️⬆️🌕 Currently we are in the upper 40s this morning with partly cloudy skies for now, and light NE winds.

♒️ Air Quality today will be a bit hazier, especially with the potential for blowing dust in Central WA this afternoon - some of that haze could be pushed this way, although, our winds are not expected to be gusty enough, so we shall see.

🌤️⛅️🌡️⬆️ Our Tuesday weather will again be in the low 80s for most, with mostly cloudy skies, as today is a transitional day into an active / cooler pattern. There is a very slight chance for a shower after 3-4pm, BUT I don’t expect showers to reach this far North, as an elongated trough swings through to our south.

💨 Winds today we start NE and back around to the South-Southwest by this afternoon, out ahead of a trough and several waves that will be the weather makers for tomorrow and beyond. Winds could gust to 10mph at times towards mid afternoon.

👀 What’s Ahead 👀 - Active pattern begins Wednesday and will continue, at times, through Monday. After Monday, we will dry out for a bit, and warm up into the 70s again, which is average for this time of year.

🌧️ FIRE RECOVERY EFFORTS - Today will be rain-free (yes, I said it) and a decent day to spend time working on recovery efforts. Wednesday morning from approx 8-11am we are looking at light rain totaling ~.20” and again Wednesday night. Thursday continues to look dry right now, BUT we do have a chance for a shower pop up towards the end of the day, so I will continue to update. Friday we are expected to have several hours of light rain from late morning to mid-afternoon.

🚨Hello and Good Morning, all!🚨

🌡️⬆️🌕 Currently we are in the low to mid 40s this morning with mostly clear skies and very light Northeasterly winds.

♒️ Air Quality yesterday was the best it has been in a month and will be the same today.

🌤️⛅️🌡️⬆️ Our Monday weather will be the first of a 2 day high pressure take over ➡️ we will see our high today in the low 80s for most, with just high clouds drifting through, especially in the afternoon.

💨 Winds today will be less than 7mph all day; start out of the NE and by afternoon be Easterly / Southeasterly.

👀 What’s Ahead 👀 - As mentioned, building clouds Tuesday afternoon that will signal another change, and Wednesday-Saturday we will see off and on changes for showers / appreciable rainfall. Temperatures will also fall back into the 70s. I will detail this all out as we go.

🌧️ FIRE RECOVERY EFFORTS - I have been getting questions about the rain coming this week, as it pertains to people and families continuing to recover, restore and eventually rebuild what they lost in the fires. Monday and Tuesday will be rain-free and the best days to spend time working on recovery efforts. Starting Wednesday early morning we are looking at a several hours of light rain and again Wednesday night. Thursday looks dry right now, BUT things will most likely shift, so keep checking back here every day for rain updates starting Tuesday night.

🚨Good Sunday Morning!🚨

🌡️⬆️🌕 Currently we are in the low 50s, as some clouds around kept us from dipping into the 40s; however, I know some of you in higher elevations are in the 40a this morning. My rain gauge picked up .01” of precipitation from yesterday - it was fantastic to smell the rainfall! We did go out and about, and caught a dust devil around the Davenport area, but the blowing dust really hampered our visibility of seeing much structure that may have been occurring.

♒️ Air Quality is in the low moderate range - the rain and cooler temperatures have truly helped to clear out the air and keep the smoke from larger fires out West tamped down. We will continue to see the clearing out of the atmosphere the rest of the day.

🌤️⛅️🌡️⬆️ Our Sunday weather will remain cooler, but no rain showers / thunderstorms to speak of. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will wax and wane today ➡️ Temperatures will reach the mid 70s with breezy SW winds gusting to 13-15mph at times, as the upper level low continues to exit the region.

👀 What’s Ahead 👀 - Monday & Tuesday will be the warmest days of the week, as a high pressure briefly builds back in and we climb into the 80s. As mentioned, building clouds Tuesday afternoon that will signal another change, and Wednesday-Saturday we will see off and on changes for showers / appreciable rainfall. Temperatures will also fall back into the 70s. I will detail this all out as we go.

📆 We are going to remain seasonally below average until at least the middle of September, however seeing that the Strong El Niño that is forecasted to kick in this Fall, the Climate Data Center shows our 3 month outlook temperatures covering Sep-Nov has a 60-70% chance of being above average - but we shall see. I have been putting together thoughts on this Fall and Winter season for the Northwest and will make a video covering it very soon!
