What has 2021 taught me, I’ve learned that sometime is not about catching the biggest fish, shooting the biggest buck. It’s about enjoying the moment and time we have on earth. The memories are the real trophy, trophy’s come in many shape and sizes or colours and in reality I have already won my trophies. Today for the first time my kids came out hunting, how exciting. When I picked up my daughter on Friday and told her it hunting season and I need her luck to get me a deer. This morning she was up at 5AM ready to go, all excited and by surprise my dad came to the shop with her and I knew it was going to be a good day. I shot my first Mule buck and she watched it all happen from the time I got out of the truck to the point of me pulling the trigger. Yes the mule is small but too her it was a deer. A deer to harvest and eat. At that point I couldn’t not be happier with my decision to pull the trigger. Her smile is the trophy and to top it off I got to shoot my dads old rife that was passed down from his dad I’ll forever carry that rifle in memory of all the hunts the rifle has been on. My son came out on the afternoon hunt and even tho we didn’t fill anymore tags I am proud of him. He’s been learning to drive on back roads with his grandpa, eventually all he was taught came into a huge factor. Today he drove the other truck while my dad and brother pushed bush. How far you have come my boy is huge! Thank you son for stepping up and playing apart in are hunting party. I am 100% sure both my kids will be hunting and learning along side my dad, brothers and me. These memories will forever be remembered and yes I will be hanging my mule on my wall. It’s apart of my life. What amazing kids I have and to be a dad I would never trade it for anything. Here to all the real trophy winner out there.
