I've been on and off lately, mostly off. It looks like 99+ unread messages from friends and work, piles of dishes, piles of laundry, not even a will to read, disconnected to the world, and sleeping all day. The thing that I've been looking forward to is my anniversary celebration with my partner, one of my pillars why I'm holding on.
I've been thinking what "being here, still" means. It could be stuck in a situation or condition, or it could be a proof of resilience.
I'd say I'm both. I will not elaborate, that is between me and the journal pages of this book.
-------------------
Still Here by Josue Mapagdalita, is a collection of prose-poetry that is a manifestation of his resilience and perseverance. It's like a friend, na magsh-share ng bigat pero may kasamang pag-iingat because the book is making sure that every piece ends in a hopeful note. It allows you to pour your heart out too, inviting you to write your worries and all that weight in the pages by the use of the journaling prompts inside (as an annotation-heavy kind of person, this is made for me!)
The book talks about healing, self-worth, the rat race, chasing the things you thought you wanted, the burden of being a breadwinner, and many other things from the author's experience and the people around him.
