How to Increase Your E-E-A-T Score

●》》Highlight Real-Life Experience

Google wants to know: Have you done what you're writing about?

Examples:

■ A nutritionist writing about keto diets based on personal and client experience

■ A business owner sharing firsthand lessons about starting a company.

Tip:
Add storytelling, case studies, and real examples. Show photos of your work or personal journey. Authenticity matters.

●》》Showcase Credentials & Testimonials

Prove you're qualified to talk about your topic.

Do this:

■ Add author bios with degrees, years of experience, or certifications

■ Embed video testimonials or LinkedIn reviews

■ Mention media features, partnerships, or awards.

Tip:
Update your About Page and blog author boxes with credentials. Use structured data to tag author info for Google.

●》》Cite Reliable Sources

You're not just smart; you back it up with credible data.

Do this:

■ Link to research, government sites, or reputable industry publications

■ Collaborate with known experts or institutions.

■ Get mentioned by other trusted sites (backlinks)

Tip:
Use precise citations and links to external trustworthy pages. Aim to be quoted by others, too.

●》》Keep Content Transparent and Honest
If something feels shady, Google lowers trust. Fast.

Do this:

■ Use HTTPS (secure domain)

■ Add privacy policies and contact info.

■ Disclose affiliate links or sponsored content.

■ Fix broken links and outdated info

Tip:
Check your site for errors, show you're a real business, and be upfront about your content's intent.

E-E-A-T is a framework Google uses to evaluate the credibility and reliability of content creators, websites, and pages, especially for topics that could affect a person's health, finances, safety, or happiness.

Here's a breakdown of each element:

Experience
Google wants proof that the person writing has real-world experience with the topic to show they're not just regurgitating information; they've lived it.

Example: A food blogger who has cooked the recipes they post.

Expertise
You have deep knowledge or skill in the subject you're writing about through education, certification, or intense hands-on experience. Expertise ensures the information is accurate, complete, and valuable, especially for critical or technical topics.

Example: A certified accountant giving tax advice.

Authoritativeness
Others in your industry see you (or your website) as a go-to source. Google sees authority as a sign that others validate your knowledge. Users and Google consider your site, brand, and content safe, honest, and reliable.

Examples: People mention your advice in articles, podcasts, or social media.

Trustworthiness
Your site, brand, and content are considered safe, honest, and reliable by users and Google. No amount of experience, expertise, or authority can compensate for low trust.

Examples:
You clearly state your identity, policies, and business practices.

If your content doesn't demonstrate E-E-A-T, you might might not get rankings, visibility, and clicks.

If you're a freelance writer, be careful of scammers, especially on freelance platforms.

For no reason should you take discussions outside the platform, as that's the first thing these scammers will suggest.

When Ada first started writing, joining a freelancer platform seemed like a great opportunity. Unfortunately, not reading the platform's instructions led to a costly mistake.

Ada placed a bid, and the poster asked to take the work off the platform. Not knowing this was a red flag, the request was accepted.

Always read the instructions of any freelance platform. Understanding how they operate can save you from future consequences.

After writing about 20 articles for a client from Pakistan, it was time to get paid, but no payment came. Two days later, the client returned, claiming that payment depended on submitting one more article. Refusing to write anything without receiving payment for the previous work, Ada ignored him.

The result? No payment for the sweat, late-night work, and top-notch writing.

Don't fall victim to scams.

If anyone asks to go off the platform, demand full payment upfront. Their response will tell you everything you need to know.

If anyone tells you to go off the platform, ask them to pay your money in full before you start writing. See how they respond.

Freelance writing is not for the weak! You could be earning $10000 one month, and the next five months, no clients! Everywhere is silent! You begin to rethink your decisions. "Is this how I want to continue living my life?" "I have no stability," "I can't even have long-term bragging rights."

Freelance writing should be a short-term goal until you can convince a company to hire you with high pay and do it alongside your main job or business (you need serious time management to excel). Doing it alone can lead you to depths of fear, pessimism or anxiety you never knew existed.

Ada was once working in a company where she earned minimum wage. To make it worse, she didn't have exciting projects. She was wasting her time and talent because she wanted to be a working-class lady.

One day, Ada decided it was enough. She is a writer, and will earn with her skills. She started researching how to earn with writing skills, and that was when she learned about content writing.

Since then, she has landed several clients. Started with N1 per word, progressed to N10 per word, and then went global.

Ada got clients who paid $150 per 1000 words and then clients who paid $1000 per 1000 words. She was able to use the money earned to leave Nigeria and start a new life in a foreign country.

If you want to learn how she did it, Nenye Writes is hosting a content writing class where we will teach you everything you need to know about content writing, from writing your first sample to landing your first client and earning higher at every stage of your growth.

The class is for a month, costing only N50,000 (NGN) or $50 (USD).

That is less than 2000 naira in a day.

* To get a new skill

* To level up your earnings

* To get foreign exposure

* To live the life of your dreams

* To have primary or extra income

* To start a new business

* To earn from the comfort of your homes or with great colleagues (it's your choice, and we'll guide you through the decision-making process)
