Today, I had the proud opportunity to attend the Nari Shakti meeting held under the leadership of Adhyaksha Rajkumari Thapa, the respected Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly (SLA).

The gathering brought together Nari Shakti representatives from Pakyong and Gangtok districts, reflecting the strength, unity, and growing leadership of women across Sikkim.

As the Nari Shakti Incharge of Pakyong and Zilla Upadhyaksha, Pakyong, I was honored to represent my district in this significant meeting. It was an inspiring platform where women leaders came together to discuss ideas, share experiences, and strengthen our collective mission of empowerment and progress.

Together, we move forward with renewed energy to uplift every woman and create a stronger, more inclusive future.

I am honored to be part of the final preparation meeting for Mother Honor Day, scheduled to be held on 10th August 2025 at Ramphu Playground, under the visionary leadership of our Party Acting President Shri Kunga Nima Lepcha and with the committed guidance of our esteemed Secretary General And Hon’ble Minister Shri Arun Upreti, Assembly President Shri MN Sherpa, and other respected party leaders and dignitaries.

This event, organized formally by the Department of Women and Child Development and supported extensively by the SKM Party, is a profound initiative to celebrate and honor the irreplaceable role of mothers in our society. It reflects our deep cultural and social values, emphasizing respect, gratitude, and recognition for the sacrifices and unconditional love of mothers.

I commend the efforts of all sub-committees and departments working tirelessly on various fronts—pandal construction, accommodation, food, transport, cleanliness, and overall coordination. Your dedication ensures that this program will be organized with the dignity and grandeur it truly deserves.

As the Zilla Upadhyaksha of Pakyong District, I reaffirm my full support and cooperation to make Mother Honor Day a memorable and successful celebration. Commencement of the 79th Independence Day Celebration 2025 with Grandeur and Patriotism in Rhenock Constituency
Organized by the Independence Day Celebration Committee (IDCC), 19th Rhenock Constituency, Pakyong District
Venue: Padamchey Secondary School Playground

As the Patron of the 79th Independence Day Celebration 2025, I take immense pride in sharing that the grand celebration at the constituency level commenced today at the Padamchey Secondary School Playground with remarkable dignity, vibrant spirit, and collective patriotic fervor.

The presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Shri Udai Singh Tamang (Golay), Chief Coordinator of the Ex-Servicemen Association of Sikkim-cum-Social Worker, added honour and inspiration to the inaugural function. We were also privileged to be joined by senior departmental officials, respected members of the SKM party, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Honourable Zilla Panchayat and Panchayat representatives, school heads, faculty members, and a large, enthusiastic gathering of the public.

The day began with the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag, the singing of the National Anthem, and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp — each gesture symbolizing our unity, wisdom, and peace as a democratic nation.

Our students uplifted the spirit of the day through enthralling cultural performances that celebrated India’s rich and diverse heritage. These performances truly embodied the essence of unity in diversity and were widely appreciated by all present.

Additionally, the football matches under the Constituency-Level Independence Day Football Tournament brought high energy and local pride to the day’s proceedings. All players hailed from Sikkim, reinforcing our commitment to fostering homegrown talent and empowering our youth through sports.

The Independence Day Celebration Committee (IDCC), 19th Rhenock Constituency, deserves special recognition for their tireless efforts and meticulous planning which led to the smooth ex*****on of today’s program.

This inaugural day marks a spirited beginning to a series of meaningful and patriotic events ahead. As we celebrate the 79th year of our nation’s independence, let us continue to uphold the values of unity, dedication, and progress in our constituency and beyond.

This auspicious day commemorates the moment when Lord Buddha, after attaining enlightenment, delivered his first sermon and shared with the world the Four Noble Truths, thereby setting in motion the Wheel of Dharma. It is a profound reminder of the values of truth, compassion, and inner awakening.

As we observe Drukpa Tshe-zi, let us take a moment to reflect upon the timeless teachings of Lord Buddha. His message of the Middle Path continues to serve as a beacon of hope, guiding humanity towards a life of balance, peace, and harmony.

May this sacred occasion inspire all of us to uphold the ideals of unity, mutual respect, and compassion. Let it strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and communal harmony among the people of Sikkim and beyond.

Today, I had the honour of attending the grand and historic 7th Sarathi Samman Diwas held at Manan Kendra, Gangtok. The event, graced by the august presence of our visionary Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), was a true reflection of his unwavering commitment to the welfare and dignity of the driver community in Sikkim.

Our HCM has always believed in samman (respect) for every section of society, and today’s gesture of providing cars and taxis to deserving drivers is a shining example of his generous and people-centric leadership. It not only empowers our hardworking Sarath is but also uplifts their families with pride and hope.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the recipients who received vehicles under this noble initiative. May you continue to serve society with dedication and safety.

As Zilla Upadakshya, I express my deepest gratitude to the HCM for his inclusive vision and continuous efforts in building a prosperous Sikkim for all.

After the conclusion of the program at Manan Kendra, I also attended the coordination meeting at Padamchey to oversee and support the preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebration. The collective enthusiasm of the local panchayats and community members reflects our shared commitment to making this national occasion memorable and meaningful.
