1973 BSA Tank

Absolutely loved bringing this tank back to life.

Custom cut to hug the FT 500 engine.
Welding.
Rust treatment.
Sanding.
Filler.
Primer.
Paint.
Decals.

Beautiful BSA 1973 Tank

We absolutely love giving something a new lease of life.

This tank required some modifications to hug over our FT 500 engine. It was a big job to cut out the bottom of the tank and weld in new pieces. We then used a 3 part rust treatment and some filler to repair previous damage.

Many many hours of sanding off the old paint allowed us to then prime and apply the beautiful New English White and Grassmere Green stripe. The Wurks decals added the finishing touches.

All of this work took part in our wurkshop, garden and living room (excellent space for paint drying).

What a whirlwind... no sleep Thursday through to Friday, 31 hours on the spanners to get Primoris Bike Shed Show ready.

We made it and what an honour it was to be in Shed Row.

The Bike Shed show for us was a weekend full of awesome conversations with fantastic people.

Thank you to all of you for your support of this build, us and our channel.

This build was my (Emily) biggest challenge, I wildly underestimated how much work it was going to be in the silly short deadline I set. Nonetheless, Joe and I faced it together and feel very proud of what we accomplished.

We found a great little independent upholsterer at Custom Classic & Retro Auto Trimmers in Loughborough.

Vaughan is simply fantastic, extremely friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and above all passionate about his craft. He took the time to listen to my vision and guided me on the process to ensure I was happy with the product.

What a day at the Stafford Classic Motorcycle Show.

Starting the day with lots of lists and on a mission to find the remaining parts for the Honda Bike Shed Show Build. Bought lots of nuts, bolts, and washers and needing a car break to organise ourselves. Joe then lost the list and we spent the afternoon winging it, remembering things we forgot once on the way home, as you do!

We had a great conversation with the guys at Roadskin, trying on their Armoured Motorcycle Clothing and writing a wish list. Their clothing, both on and off the bike is ridiculously comfortable. We will see them again later in the month at the Bike Shed Show.

We saw lots of fantastic bikes, both in the show and in the car park! Had a great conversation with the man who arranged for the Brough Superior bikes to be in the show, getting Em an invite to go up the hill in a sidecar at the Kop Hill Climb later in the year!!

Finishing up our day at The Swan with Two Necks Longdon. First time visiting and will definitely be returning. Atmosphere, service and food excellent. Joe pushed his plate to mine, thinking it was for a photo, I was wrong, he wanted his vegetables removing 🤣

Thank you to everyone who came over to say hi. We had some great conversations throughout the day. It is great to put faces to online names!

First ride of the season.

Beautiful weather.

Fabulous scenery.

New motorcycle clothing.

It felt great to dust off the Harley and take a break from the workshop.

Roadskin ladies motorcycle clothing, T shirt and leggings are extremely good quality, really soft and super comfortable whilst providing much needed road protection. Love the attention to detail like the little loop around the foot to stop the leggings riding up and sitting on top of my shoes.

Many tulip varieties beautifully in bloom, showcasing their vibrant colours.

It's worth a visit if you're over this way, surrounded by stunning roads for riding.

Welcome, Maris...the Mash Potato Motorcycle!

What a present, absolutely over the moon.

Never heard of a Mash before, based on a Honda 400 engine I believe, nice and light and a great colour scheme.

Feels a perfect first bike for learning with.

He needs some love and attention, gave him a quick wash with some XCP cleaner yesterday and now he smells amazing!

It's not the type of bike that usually catches our eye, but this bike really grew on us. We really enjoyed ourselves bringing this one back to life.

What a weekend visiting friends and giving a quick health check to Bubba.

Love this little guy Bear, he looks so at home around the bikes. Proud as punch with the best seat in the house.

Working on this Royal Enfield has been such a treat for us. We've genuinely enjoyed every minute and made friends for life in the process. Nothing beats the feeling of restoring a bike to its former glory to have the opportunity for more adventures and to make more memories.

Bring on more fun for 2025!
