MOST STUDENTS BELIEVE that schools should restrict the use of artificial intelligence in academic activities, as they believe this would not just encourage independence but also critical thinking skills. While grades 7, 8, and 9 generally agree to prohibit access to artificial intelligence, grade 10 learners are in between. Although AI offers efficiency by completing tasks more quickly, it also poses the risk of making students overly dependent on technology, potentially reducing their motivation and effort in learning.

“A critical, independent, and investigative press is the lifeblood of any democracy.”
— Nelson Mandela

Today, August 30, we commemorate National Press Freedom Day in honor of Marcelo H. Del Pilar, the Father of Philippine Journalism, whose sacrifice continues to inspire generations.

But this day is not only about remembering him—it is also about recognizing the vital role of journalists today, who carry the same courage in upholding truth and freedom. Many have risked, and continue to risk their lives to ensure that the voice of the people is heard.

Let us honor their dedication, bravery, and sacrifice. To write, to speak, and to inform is not merely a privilege—it is a profound responsibility in building a just and democratic society.
