Here’s one exciting news from Carlos P. Garcia High School 😊

The Journalism Program has been officially recognized by the Central Office as a Special Program.

The SPJ offers a wide range of journalism activities, including Categorical Writing—covering News Writing, Editorials, Columns, Cartoons, Features, Sports, and Photojournalism.

Additionally, learners can hone their skills through radio broadcasting and contribute to the school publication, which is published in both English and Filipino.

Together, let us practice responsibility and critical thinking, thereby contributing to the promotion of ethical and responsible journalism in our society. ✍🏻

Carlos P. Garcia High School is proud to announce the official offering of the Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) for S.Y. 2025-2026!

The program is designed to develop the skills of young aspiring journalists in the fields of news writing, photojournalism, broadcasting, editorial cartooning, and more, equipping learners with the tools to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible media practitioners.

JUST IN: Garcian Journalists Bag Top Ranks at Division Schools Press Conference-Manila

Garcian journalists excelled at the recent 2025 DSPC, bagging top ranks in several categories. The Garcian Gazette, the official school paper of Carlos P. Garcia High School, was among the top winners, securing the highest rank (Rank 1) in Science, Editorial and Column, and Layout and Page Design; Rank 4 in Sports, and Rank 5 in Feature Page categories.

In addition, eight Garcian learners – Allanize Ingryd V. Lucero, Elijah Factor, Nishina Anikka Quebral, Mary Elizabeth Beltran, Jaymie Santiago, James Edward Montarde, Tom Aizel Javier, and Stephen Yuori Nolasco – also achieved success in Photojournalism and Radio Broadcasting in English, respectively. This further strengthened the school's reputation for excellence in campus journalism.

JUST IN | Grit and Talent: CPGHS Arnis Team Triumphs at Manila Meet 2025

The Carlos P. Garcia High School (CPGHS) Arnis team has emerged victorious at Palarong Maynila 2025, proudly representing District VI with outstanding performances. The team clinched a Bronze Medal in the Anyo Team Competition for Boys, featuring Robert Iverson Santos, Omarion Harmony Tirazona, and Christian Nuri Lorenzo, while the Girls’ team, comprising Rheanna Borela, Eyeca Maestro, and Jeriline Baga, earned a Silver Medal. In the Combative Competition, both the Half Lightweight Boys and Girls categories secured Bronze Medals, thanks to the efforts of Omarion Harmony Tirazona and Rheanna Borela.

Driven by their success, the team is eager to return next year, ready to elevate their game even further.

JUST IN | Victory Alert! Carlos P. Garcia High School Basketball Teams Dominate Palarong Maynila!

With the enthralling display of exceptional skill and determination, Carlos P. Garcia High School (CPGHS) 3x3 girls team triumphed in the semi-finals against Ignacio Villamor High School before going against the championship match with Chang Kai Shek College, with a 21- 4 victory, this Monday, January 20. Meanwhile, the CPGHS boys team also showcased their defensive prowess to UST in the semi-finals. Still, it narrowly fell to National University in the championship, finishing with a commendable score of 12-8, earning the Silver medal in this year’s Manila Meet.
