GLK Update:
Episode 3 is about halfway complete. I can't say when exactly I will complete it but I wanted to speak on another subject.
I've been animating almost constantly (GLK and other projects) since I believe January of 2023 and as some of you may know, especially those of you who do stop-motion or any kind of animation really, animation can be quite exhausting and very laborious. I think recently, I've been in need of a break to refresh myself. Inspired by this thought, I had an idea. I think I'm going to start publishing screenplays of God's Last King and other projects on my own website. I find writing to be much less stressful than animating and it should mean that I will share stuff more frequently since writing doesn't take anywhere near as much time as making a stop-motion episode.
To give you context, to make just one episode of God's Last King, I have to plan character designs, research what is available for those designs, purchase action figures and items I need, write the screenplay, record the voices, get music, sound effects etc., take the pictures, get reference footage for certain movements, edit all of it together and maybe more that I'm forgetting currently. For a screenplay, all I have to do is write it.
Hopefully, for those of you who enjoy reading (I actually don't tend to like reading very much except in very special cases,) or desire holy entertainment so ardently that you would read it if it were available, these screenplays will provide you with the virtuous leisure you seek. I still plan to animate God's Last King but since that takes a long time and I also need a bit of a break, these screenplays should be what I publish more often.
I don't know for sure if these screenplays will be the final version of the script or story but that is my intention so that, having already written the story, all I have left is to animate it. Perhaps these screenplays can also play a role similar to that of manga/comic to anime or a novel to a movie. Basically, the written/static version of the story is published first and the video version is after. One reason I'd like to make these screenplays final is to avoid confusion of what is canon and what isn't. This is a common problem in the anime world where the story in the comic is different from the animated one in some ways. I hope to avoid that problem but I can't guarantee.
On another note, I don't think the screenplays will only be GLK because there are a lot of other franchises or media I have thought of like a prequel series about the war in heaven between St. Michael and Lucifer.
Another benefit I find in focusing on screenplays is in relation to the prophesied future of the world. For those of you who are aware of the Three Days of Darkness and the Age of Peace, as far as I'm inferring, during the Age of Peace, we won't really have technology/electricity anymore so it won't be possible to watch movies or TV shows. In light of that, maybe these screenplays will serve the purpose of being Catholic books or Catholic plays during the Age of Peace. They can be preserved for that purpose unlike video media which requires electricity to view.
I don't plan for the website to only have screenplays but it may also have pages where you can watch the animated episodes, learn about the characters, listen to music from the show and read a Q&A about the series.
So, that is my update for now. In summary, I still do want to animate GLK but I'm taking a bit of a break and hope to focus more on publishing screenplays for now.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Hopefully, the first screenplay will be shared soon.
