Homicide at Koutnic Park in SE Palm Bay. There's one victim and one suspect that has yet to be apprehended but police are following multiple leads. According to police, it is believed to be drug related and there's no threat to the community. Residents are asked to avoid the area.

CAPTURED!

HIT-AND-RUN SUSPECT CAPTURED AFTER EXHAUSTIVE MANHUNT

After an exhaustive manhunt through miles of swamp, the suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Palm City has been captured.

The suspect fled the scene and attempted to evade law enforcement by hiding in a large swamp along the Martin-St. Lucie County line.

Martin County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives, along with officers from FWC and the Port St. Lucie Police Department, worked together for more than two hours to locate and apprehend him.

The search included MCSO K9s, Aviation and Drone Units, as well as Port St. Lucie Police’s Drone Unit. Officers spent more than two hours in the water and difficult terrain as the suspect continued trying to avoid capture.

In the end, the coordinated multi-agency effort paid off. The suspect is now in custody. Excellent work by our drone and aviation units. We will have more on this suspect as Information becomes available.
