Water Update: Yes, You Can Use Your Toilets! 🚽

💧We’ve received several calls from residents worried they won’t be able to flush during the temporary water supply shutdown. Good news! That’s not the case.🚨 Share this with a friend who is concerned. Our water storage tanks will remain full and operational.
✅ Toilets, sinks, and showers will continue to work — as long as we all conserve.
🚫 Irrigation and outdoor watering must be paused to make the stored water last.

Shutdown Window starts on Sunday, October 26 at 12:00 a.m. and is scheduled to end on Tuesday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. We’ll notify you once full service resumes.

A new bridge is coming to the International Park of Commerce! 🚧

To build the bridge safely and efficiently over the Delta Mendota Canal, International Parkway between Berkeley Rd. and Promontory Pkwy. will be fully closed for about one year starting November 10, 2025.

The full closure allows crews to finish construction nearly six months faster than originally planned and helps the City meet federal grant deadlines. A detour will be in place via Schulte Rd., Hansen Rd., and Promontory Pkwy.

Guilty Verdict Reached in Tracy Homicide

Per San Joaquin DA Ron Freitas:

“Today, in Judge Orcutt’s courtroom, Deputy District Attorney Janet Smith obtained a guilty verdict in the People v. Jones and Garner murder trial.

On March 15, 2022, in Tracy, Justin Peoples stopped at a gas station to get change, where he brushed past Christina Lyn Garner, leading to a violent confrontation with Jeremy Wayne Jones, who stabbed Mr. Peoples multiple times, and Garner, who shot him in the head.

The jury returned verdicts of first-degree murder for both defendants. The jury further found that Jones used a knife in the commission of the murder, and that Garner personally used a firearm in violation of Penal Code §12022.53(d) and was a felon in possession of a gun.

“These verdicts hold the defendants accountable for their brutal actions and reaffirm our commitment to justice,” said San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas. “We thank the jury for their service and commend Deputy District Attorney Janet Smith for her outstanding dedication in seeking justice for Mr. Peoples and his loved ones.”

Garner faces a potential sentence of 50 to life in prison, plus an additional term for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Jones faces a potential sentence of 27 to life, plus extra time for being armed during the offense.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 17, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in 8D.”
