Journalism has been in the blood of Waseem 's family since the beginning, since he is the son of Shamim Ahmed Shamim (late) writer and editor-in-chief at Idara- Kutub hafiz. Waseem 's grandfather Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Ghaziabadi was also Pakistan's prominent reform leader and a religious scholar.
