Loofy The Lafanter

This March we were blessed with 2 angles Loofy and Guku: 3 months old Persian cats.
Very soon they filled our house with their love for everyone.

Guku will often go out of house for a day or so, but will come back eventually. GUKU went missing in October 2024. So Loofy became focus of our life. Loofy was a true nobel soul. Everytime we called him, he would run lovingly towards us . He thought it as an obligation to reply to every call I made to him. He was like our youngest baby, who preferred to sleep with us in bed.

Then Tuesday, 4th December night when I called him, he responded twice in very low tone, however I was unable to trace from where did he respond. I kept looking for him whole night but he did not comeback. On Wednesday evening, I took a round of the vicinity as one last attempt to find him, and there he was lying motionless, hurt but very peaceful, most probably bitten by a dog.

Loofy…..”Tum Mujhay Bohut Achay Lagtay ho”

🌟And MILES TO GO BEFORE I SLEEP.🌟

I am thrilled to share that I have joined the Institute for Art and Culture, Lahore as the Dean of the School of Informatics and Robotics. With great enthusiasm, I look forward to leading this institution towards becoming a center of excellence in the convergence of AI-generated art, culture, and computer vision.

Special thanks to Muhammad Faisal Janjua, Rector IAC for trusting me with this assignment!

UCP: A Grateful Reflection on an Incredible Journey

As I mark my last day as an Associate Professor at the University of Central Punjab (UCP), I find myself filled with immense gratitude for the journey I've had here. UCP has not only been my place of work but a thriving environment that continually inspired and supported my professional growth.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the UCP administration, respected dean Dr. Muhammad Amjad Iqbal, Hod Dr. Mohsin Ashraf and other colleagues for their unwavering support. I am proud to have contributed to this incredible institution.

A special note of appreciation goes to my PhD, MS, and BS students. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication have given me new strength and motivation every day. You have been my greatest source of inspiration, and it has been an honor to walk alongside you in your academic journeys.

As I step into a new chapter, I carry with me the lessons, memories, and bonds I’ve made at UCP.

Thank you, UCP, for shaping not just my career but also my perspective on what education and mentorship can achieve.

Here’s to continued success for this remarkable institution and its vibrant community!

Warm regards,

Dr. Shazia Saqib
