Always exciting to see new dining and drink additions popping up in the downtown core and The Eatery 61 is a welcome one.

📍- 12 Court St S, Unit #10.

We stopped by to try a few dishes from their globally-inspired menu:

✨ What we ordered
• Bison Meatballs – $17
Bison meatballs topped with mojo rojo and Idiazabal cheese.

• Chile Lime Pan-Seared Salmon – $35
Pan-seared salmon with chile lime glaze served over sweet potato & corn succotash, tomatillos, and finished with a zesty gremolata.

• Chorizo Flatbread – $18
Spreadable chorizo, caramelized onion, and honey red pepper pesto.

🍸 Drinks
• Sangria – $14
• Espresso Martini – $15
(They also have weekend drink specials and are open late, until 11pm on weekends.)

The space is cozy — a great balance between a restaurant and a lounge-style bar, with extra seating upstairs. The food was enjoyable; a solid experience overall with thoughtful ingredients and presentation.

Gluten and Vegetarian options also available!

Pricing is fair for what’s offered, and there’s a separate weekend brunch menu we’re excited to come back and try.

They also offer catering, which is a great bonus for events and private functions.

Congrats to the owners, wishing you success on this new venture.
We’ll definitely be back!

P.S they also offer the if youd like to try that out! e o

We’re always excited to see new additions to our vibrant culinary scene here in Thunder Bay! 🍽️ As food lovers, we know TBay is home to some incredible spots — and it’s always exciting to welcome new cultural flavours to the mix.

That’s why we couldn’t wait to check out Thekinni House of Hunger, a new restaurant bringing authentic South Indian spices and dishes to the city. 🌶️🇮🇳
📍 770 James St N

We tried the egg puff, meat puffs, and a few others, each packed with bold flavours that really stood out. 🔥

They also offer a special menu after 3 PM featuring grilled chicken dishes, definitely something we’ll be back to try!

Huge congrats to the owners on this new venture — wishing you all the best on this delicious journey. 🙌
Let’s show them some love, TBay! 💛

We finally made it to the all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch at Anchor & Ore and wow… the spread did not disappoint. 🍳🥐 From savory bites to sweet treats, the choices felt endless, and yes, we tried a little bit of everything (for research purposes, of course 🤣😏).

Brunch runs 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM for $44 on open table, and honestly, it’s worth every bite. Recommended to book via OpenTable, it’s super easy, hassle free and gets you a discount as well.

There’s a final Thanksgiving brunch on Oct 12 coming up soon, and after this round, we already know we’ll be back for seconds. 🦃🍂

Yesterday’s cooking class with AfroGourmets was nothing short of delicious! 🥟🍗🍨

We made some meat-filled pastels, chicken yassa, and sweet tiakri from Senegal, each dish packed with authentic flavors and heart.

We met amazing people, shared stories, and laughed our way through a truly special culinary experience. ✨

You can find them at Goods & Co., where their incredible sauces are available (trust us, you’ll want them in your kitchen 👨🏾‍🍳). Plus, they’ve got more sessions and cooking classes coming up soon, don’t miss out!

Now tell us… which one of us was secretly trying to “sample” the ingredients the most? 👀😂

We had the absolute pleasure of attending a private tasting by AfroGourmets, at Goods & Co. Market and let’s just say.. It was an unforgettable culinary experience, a truly soulful and refreshing celebration of culture, flavour and connection.

From start to finish, it was a well-curated journey across 6 vibrant tasting stations, each one bursting with flavors, stories, and a whole lot of heart. Every dish felt like a personal invitation, crafted with precision, rooted in culture, and finished with love.

🌶️ The sauces? Next level. Each one brought its own taste, from bold and spicy to warm and comforting. Each bite a passport to a different experience. Whether you like a punch of heat or a whisper of sweetness, there was something here to awaken every part of your palate.

🍰 And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, the desserts was the perfect ending to a sensational tasting.

AfroGourmets is without a doubt a welcome and much-needed addition to the vibrant culinary scene here in Thunder Bay. Their blend of their Afro roots with global flair is something special! and we’re beyond excited to see what’s next for this passionate team.

Goodluck to the owners! You’ve won both our hearts and tastebuds.

P.S! The Tacosssss!!! 🤤

Signing out,
2Bs 💛
