Long time, no food post! 👀🍽️

Today we stopped by the newly revamped The Grill on Cumberland, formerly the Portside Restaurant at the Port Arthur Hotel. We’d visited a few times in the past for burger runs, but it always felt like the space was waiting for a fresh start. We were excited to see what the new chapter had in store.

First impressions? They nailed the atmosphere.

The fresh white interior, updated furniture, and a gentleman playing the piano created a warm, welcoming vibe from the moment we walked in. The staff were incredibly friendly and greeted us with genuine smiles, it felt like the restaurant had found a whole new energy.

🍽️ Their Daily Special and the Grilled Spicy Italian & Peppers Sandwich (Comes with Soup of the Day or Fries)

Cost - $20.95 each

🍌 Grilled Banana Split Dessert
Warm grilled banana topped with vanilla ice cream, toasted pecans, and finished with rich chocolate and caramel sauce.

Now for the important part… the food.

Everything was cooked really well. The portions were generous, the flavours were balanced, and nothing overpowered anything else. The gravy deserves a special mention, it was absolutely delicious. It was one of those lunches that leaves you feeling full and satisfied without feeling heavy or sluggish afterward.

Whether you’re staying at the hotel or just looking for a new lunch / dinner spot in town, this is definitely worth checking out.

Would we go back? Absolutely. It’s a welcome addition to Thunder Bay’s dining scene.
