the first 5.5 miles today were in the rain. In the last week, I've run in rain, wind, cold and bad humidity. The run in always earned. Some people think I'm crazy. But I run because someday I might not be able to. What I've learned from people is it cherish what you have and not wait until it's gone. So I run on the days I don't feel like it for future me who'd do anything to get it back.

what's a movie you loved growing up but don't think many people have seen? I'll go first. The Leave it To Beaver movie (1997). It was the first movie I remember seeing in theaters. It flopped at the box office but won in my heart.

happy birthday to my favorite person! Somehow in the last year we’ve grown even closer. In seeing new cities, nights at home in the couch, traveling to baseball games, going to countless movies, yelling at football games and plotting out our future. You are the person I was meant to do life with. I love you Kelsey!

As I finish my last runs of 2024, I realized this year marked 10 years since I started running. If you’ve only followed me recently you may think I’ve been running my whole life and have always been good at it. Or maybe you’ve wondered if I’m training for some type of race. I haven’t always been and I’m not really training for anything. The reason I continue to run is for that person I was who started out not running but walking. The person who dreamed of having the strength to live a healthier life when even one mile was a mountain. It’s not about the speed, it’s not about the mileage, it’s not about motivation. It’s about discipline. That’s what I learned this year. I’ll never be the fastest or the one who logs the most miles. But I’ll be the only who is relentless and shows up when it’s rainy, hot, freezing or windy. That’s been me in every aspect of my life. Here’s to the thousands of miles I’ve logged since then, the miles I hope to log in the future, the handful of times I’ve felt proud of myself and to the people I've inspired along the way.
