FINAL payment deadline:
April 15, 2026 (Annual ITR for 2025)
Any income you earn, regardless of the amount, must be declared to the BIR. For example, if you earned ₱1,000,000 in 2025, you are required to file an annual income tax return and pay the corresponding tax on or before April 15, 2026.
Choosing the 8% tax option means paying only ₱60,000 tax on a ₱1,000,000 Facebook income, which is legal, correct, and much safer. Paying this amount on time helps you avoid back taxes, penalties, and interest that can later grow to ₱300,000 or more.
Even if you are working abroad, any income earned through online platforms like Facebook, YouTube, or other monetization services that is received in the Philippines or controlled from the Philippines is subject to Philippine tax.
The only income that is not taxable in the Philippines is your salary or wages earned from employment in the foreign country, because it is foreign-sourced income.
All bank accounts affiliated with Facebook payouts are traceable by the BIR. If BIR determines willful tax evasion, it can lead to fines and imprisonment.
Note: Under the TRAIN law, individuals who earn less than ₱250,000 per year from all sources are exempt from paying income tax. This means that if your total annual earnings from Facebook and other sources are below ₱250,000, you do not need to pay income tax.
Goodluck!
