Last night’s AFCON 2025 final between Morocco and Senegal ended in chaos and triumph. Senegal defeated the hosts 1-0 in extra time, but the match was defined by a controversial stoppage-time penalty awarded to Morocco for a foul on Brahim Diaz. Enraged by the call, Senegal’s squad walked off the pitch in protest, halting play for nearly 20 minutes. When they returned, Edouard Mendy saved Diaz’s spot-kick, setting the stage for Pape Gueye to score the 94th-minute winner and secure the title.
