Stoked to release "Obrigada" on RESURRECTION DAY (4/20)!!!
This song was inspired by my time in Manaus, in the heart of the Amazon. I got to encourage (and be encouraged by!) believers from local tribes, in the city, and Venezuelan refugee shelters. Through great adversity, I saw them sing of God's goodness, weeping as they shared testimony of His faithfulness. Their gratitude in the midst of such difficulty truly inspired me.
I cannot say just how blessed I felt to see a glimpse of God's mighty work in the jungle--the far corners of the earth! It inspired me to write this song--"Obrigada"--which is Portuguese for "thank you".
In Christ's Kingdom--where there will be no sin, sickness, pain, poverty, injustice, or death--all nations will sing a big "THANK YOU!!!" to our Prince of Peace and Risen King Jesus. What a glorious, beautiful celebration that will be! I hope "Obrigada" sparks the imagination of that wonderful day. The party of the Kingdom has already begun--as the global Church joins voices in worship of our coming King!
