‼️SHOOTING AT RESTAURANT BAR‼️

On Friday, June 20, 2025, at approximately 10:48 p.m., officers from the Daytona Beach Police Department responded to a shooting at South Turn Lounge and Restaurant, located at 1540 S. Nova Road.

Upon arrival, officers located three individuals near the front entrance of the establishment, all suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were immediately provided with medical aid and transported to a local hospital. All are currently receiving treatment and are expected to survive.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an unidentified white male patron had been inside the restaurant consuming alcoholic beverages. After becoming belligerent, the individual was asked to leave by staff and was escorted out of the establishment.

Shortly after, the suspect returned and, following a brief verbal exchange, retrieved a firearm from his waistband and fired multiple rounds toward the entrance, striking the three victims.

He then fled the scene in a vehicle.
Through swift investigative work, officers were able to identify the suspect as Anthony Kaznakoff (DOB: 11/06/1996).

Officers responded to his home and made contact with individuals at the residence who advised that Kaznakoff had returned home briefly before leaving on foot.
Kaznakoff was contacted by phone, and with the assistance of his family members, he surrendered to law enforcement without incident.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our law enforcement partners, the Volusia Sheriff's Office and the South Daytona Police Department for their assistance during this investigation.

This week I had the honor of recognizing a ton of great work by our sworn, civilian, and even volunteer personnel at our annual Volusia Sheriff's Office awards ceremony. From life-saving actions, de-escalation tactics, investigative skill and displays of heroism by our sworn units, to the selfless and innovative work from our dedicated civilian employees, 911 team, support staff, and partner agencies, each award was well-deserved. It really is an honor to be the Sheriff for a team of professionals who clearly care about this community, and give it their all every day. THANK YOU!

IN CUSTODY: Today, VSO deputies and the Ormond Beach Police Department arrested Scott Allen Gardner, 33, on charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child and child neglect causing great bodily harm.

Gardner is responsible for the death of his 18-month-old son Sebastian, who was left helpless in a hot truck for more than 3 hours on the afternoon of Friday, June 6, while Gardner got a haircut and then went drinking inside Hanky Panky's Lounge.

During the investigation, Gardner gave multiple false accounts of what occurred that day.

It was estimated by medical personnel that Sebastian's body temperature reached 111 degrees during this tragedy. The same OBPD officer who tried to revive Sebastian placed Gardner in handcuffs today as he was taken into custody at his mother's home in Ormond Beach.

Sheriff Chitwood will provide more details of the investigation on Friday. Video will be posted on this page.
