The cryptocurrency market is in turmoil, with assets like Bitcoin (BTC) registering significant lows in recent months, a factor that can presumably sway the investment trend among Americans.

However, the number of investors opting to get involved in the sector is growing despite the lingering uncertain future as digital assets operate in an environment marred by a struggling economy and the threat of harsh regulations.

In particular, data acquired by Finbold indicates that as of the 2022 summer season, 18% of Americans had invested in different cryptocurrencies.

The figure represents a growth of 125% from the share of 8% of Americans who had a stake in the crypto space during the summer of 2020.

By the 2022 summer, 15% of Americans still had plans to invest in cryptocurrencies, highlighting the belief in the sector despite the market downturn.

The value represents a growth of about 36.36% from 11% of Americans who had expressed the intention to venture into cryptocurrencies during the summer of 2020.

Data on Americansโ€™ investment in crypto is retrieved from the Statista Global Consumer Survey that sampled views from over 1,000 U.S. adults aged between 18 and 64 years old.

Tron-native tokens will be accepted as a medium of payment in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Leading blockchain network Tron has inked an agreement with the government of Dominica to make Tron-native tokens authorized digital currency in the Caribbean Island.

Tron founder Justin Sun shared the milestone on Oct. 12, stating that Tron tokens, including TRX, BTT, JST, NFT, USDD, USDT, and TUSD, are accepted as a medium of exchange in Dominica.

According to the governmentโ€™s crypto ordinance, Tron now has a legal status as a legal tender in the nation.

The government said it will accept Tron-native tokens for public payments, including tax. Businesses are also urged to receive Tron-native tokens for their services.

The government added that the exchange rate between Tron crypto and the East Caribbean Dollar (XCD) will be freely determined by the market, and transactions between the two assets will be free from capital gain tax.

Despite the ongoing market crash, Tudor Jones remains bullish on the largest cryptocurrencies.

Legendary billionaire hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones revealed that he still holds a small portion of bitcoin while stating that the U.S. economy might be going into recession or already is in one.

Tudor Jones also said the value of assets such as ETH and BTC could increase amid inflation and excessive fiscal spending.

Jones Remains Optimistic About Bitcoin

In a CNBC interview on Monday (October 10, 2022), Jones stated that there has been a โ€œmassive experimentation with monetary policyโ€ in the last 12 years while saying that the next United States President come 2024 would be dealing with extreme debt dynamics that could cause fiscal retrenchment.

Speaking about cryptocurrency, the hedge fund manager said Bitcoin and Ethereum could rise in value in the future amid inflation. However, Jones did not state when the potential price increases of both crypto assets would happen.

โ€œIn a time where there is too much money which is why we have inflation and too much fiscal spending, something like crypto, specifically Bitcoin and Ethereum, where there is a finite amount of that, that will have value at some point someday. I donโ€™t know when that will be, but it will have value, that scarcity premium.โ€

Australian crypto exchange Swyftx on Monday released a new study survey showing that about one million Australians will buy cryptocurrencies for the first time in the next 12 months. The new survey questioned 2,609 Australians over 18 years of age in early July, with 548 participants of the survey sample identified as current crypto holders.

The research revealed that despite the current โ€œcrypto winterโ€, Australian crypto ownership has grown 4% year-on-year (YoY), reaching 21% this year. This figure is set to increase by another one million new crypto owners in 2023, according to the survey.

The result might bring total crypto ownership in the country to over five million.

While at least one-quarter of Australians are planning to purchase crypto over the next 12 months, the study revealed that Millenials, Gen Zers, Aussie parents, and those in full-time work are most likely to buy digital assets.

Swyftxโ€™s Head of Strategic Partnerships, Tommy Honan, commented about the development: โ€œOn the basis of current growth trajectories in the use of digital assets, we expect half of the adults under 50 in Australia to own or have owned crypto within the next one to two years.โ€

Honan, however, said the adoption rate might slow over the next 12 months before recovering again as market conditions improve.

The survey revealed that while the bear market knocked down usersโ€™ confidence, it identified that lack of sound regulation, overall market volatility, and lack of knowledge about how crypto works as the biggest factors that discourage users from investing in crypto, especially those who have not yet done so.

Swyftx co-CEO Ryan Parsons said the report indicates that there is clear demand among Australians to buy and use crypto. Still, user hesitancy is due to issues associated with regulation. The comment is reinforced by the former head of risk at Credit Suisse, CK Zheng, who believes that the next crypto bull run will be a result of โ€œregulatory clarityโ€ in the US.

A developer in NYC purchased the first-ever non-fungible token (NFT) Office building in New York City. "Located" at 44 West 37th Street, the 4700 square meters NFT serves as an immutable digital asset that points to transforming how we design, build, operate, and monetize our spaces with only "one-click".

The 16-story building was created by spatial intelligence company Integrated Projects and questions the function of architecture in Real Estate and the Metaverse.Minted on the decentralized, open-source blockchain Ethereum, the 44W37 NFT was sold for only 1 ETH. But what are NFTs?

NFTs are unique tokens issued on the blockchain that represent something that's one of a kind. They are used primarily to sell digital products such as art or music using cryptocurrency, such as ETH or Ethereum, that work as a cryptographic medium of exchange through a computer network.

Real Estate currently has two forms: A physical real estate NFT that can be made an NFT through tokenization, and a virtual real estate NFT is a piece of land within the digital realm, often referred to as the Metaverse.

Owners can create, own, transact and monetize their digital assets without the hassle of transferring property ownership.

Tether is now live on 15 different blockchain networks, according to the companyโ€™s latest announcement on Friday as the firm detailed that it is now supported by the Polkadot blockchain system.

The stablecoinโ€™s new support follows the token being added to the Near Protocol 11 days ago. The news further follows Tether being ordered by a New York judge to produce financial documents last Tuesday.

Polkadot Blockchain Ecosystem Adds Tether.

Just recently Tether Operations Limited announced that it was added to the Near Protocol on September 12 and 11 days later, the stablecoin firm revealed it is now hosted on the Polkadot blockchain.

Polkadot (DOT) is an open source distributed ledger project that connects blockchains, decentralized finance (defi), and the Web3 ecosystem. Tether manages the largest stablecoin asset worldwide as it commands a โ€‹โ€‹$68.24 billion market valuation on September 23.

Out of the $963.16 billion crypto economy today, USDT dominates by 7.078% of that value. On Friday, Tether said the addition of USDT to the Polkadot blockchain ecosystem is โ€œanother milestoneโ€ for the stablecoin issuer.

After being added to the Near Protocol and Polkadot Polkadot blockchain ecosystem, USDT is now hosted on 15 different blockchain networks.

In a note sent to Bitcoin.com News, Paolo Ardoino, the CTO at Tether said the company is โ€œdelightedโ€ to launch tether on the Polkadot blockchain network.

โ€œPolkadot is on a trajectory of growth and evolution this year and we believe Tetherโ€™s addition will be essential in helping it continue to thrive,โ€ Ardoino noted.

In the last 30 days statistics show that tetherโ€™s market cap grew by 0.8% and on Friday, USDT commands $45.51 billion of the $81.84 billion in global crypto trade volume.
