Only Purok 7 & 8 were allowed to merge due to lack of players. This is a one-time, special case approved by the SK to ensure both puroks could still join the tournament.

๐น Purok 7 & 8 can ONLY merge with each other.
๐น They are NOT allowed to merge with any other Purok ( such as Purok 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 9).
๐น Other puroks must strictly follow the original rule, players should play only for the purok they belong to.
๐ This rule was implemented in response to multiple community complaints from previous events where players were allegedly merged from different puroks, causing confusion and unfairness.
This exception was made to promote participation, not to give unfair advantage. We hope for your understanding and cooperation.

Clarification:
We would like to clarify and emphasize that the protest did NOT come from SK officials or the presiding management of the basketball tournament. The protest was raised by FELLOW PLAYERS who questioned the eligibility of one participant.
๐ In response to this, and in the interest of fairness and transparency, the player was respectfully asked to provide a birth certificate not to disqualify or embarrass, but simply to verify the facts for everyoneโs peace of mind.
๐ Please do not blame or accuse the SK officials or organizing team without knowing the full story. Weโre all working hard to make this event meaningful and fair for everyone.

We understand and acknowledge the concerns regarding entrance fees and prize amounts. However, weโd like to clarify a point that may have caused confusion:
๐ The event where teams paid โฑ200 and received โฑ300 as consolation was NOT part of the Araw ng Barangay official events. That activity was organized during a Sitio or GKK Fiesta, and not under the formal Barangay-wide celebration.
That previous event was community-based, informal, and intended mainly for fun and participation, not for competition or big prizes. In fact, the budget for that fiesta came from the hard work of your SK officials through sponsorships, personal effort, and voluntary support, not from barangay funds.
On the other hand, for the official Araw ng Barangay tournament, please understand that only half of the SK budget has been released into our account. Even so, weโve made efforts to lower the entrance fee from โฑ500 (last year) to โฑ300, to give more teams the chance to join.
Lastly, to those saying, "Wala nalang unta nagpadula if in ana ang prizes, kay hago ug kapoy baya magdula," we gently remind everyone that joining is always a choice and first and foremost, this event was meant to be fun and a celebration of unity, not just about competition or rewards.
We understand that players give real effort, and yes! complaints are natural and expected. But thatโs also exactly why, during the previous fiesta, we chose not to conduct any sports activities. Because at that time, many also said, โAyaw nalang kung gamay ra ang prize.โ
Now, we bring it back as part of a bigger and more meaningful celebration, the " 22nd Araw ng Barangay" because we know how much the community values these moments of teamwork, excitement, and fun.
We may not have the biggest prizes, but we are committed to making this celebration fair, inclusive, and meaningful for all.

While we appreciate learning from others, please know that each barangay has different circumstances: including budget, resources, priorities, and community needs. Our SK officials are doing their best with what is available. In our case, only a portion of the allocated SK budget has been released, and we continue to find ways to stretch it to serve everyone from organizing games, creating fair guidelines, to lowering entrance fees for inclusivity. Weโre not here to COMPETE with other barangays weโre here to unite our own community, celebrate together, and promote meaningful participation. We hope for your continued understanding and support as we work hard for the success of our Araw ng Barangay.
