“I love Lekompo neh, but these people don’t know what they are doing… they need people in the forefront,” he said.

Thakgi even referenced Ba Bethe — who recently signed with Sony Music Africa — but didn’t clarify the exact nature of the deal when asked on a podcast.

Ba Bethe Gashoazen Signs with Sony Music Entertainment - Africa — Lekompo Hits Big Time!

Ba Bethe Gashoazen has sealed a deal with Sony Music Entertainment - Africa , marking a significant major label partnership for the Lekompo genre! This historic move puts Limpopo's own sound at center stage.

Ba Bethe Gashoazen (real name John Maleka) is one of the main voices behind the Lekompo sound.

He collaborated with singer Vocalist Kharishma on the song “Chokeslem”, which was released on May 24, 2024. The track quickly earned Song of the Year from both Thobela FM and Capricorn FM in Limpopo.

Lekompo is a growing musical genre that blends Bolo House Music with Afro-house and modern beats. It’s gaining attention as “South Africa’s next big thing” and has developed a passionate grassroots fanbase.

This Sony deal is more than a signing—it’s a celebration of Lekompo as a cultural force. With Sony’s support, Ba Bethe will gain access to:

Lenyenye, Limpopo — In response to recent allegations concerning artist compensation, the organizers of the Touching Life Music Festival have issued an official statement addressing the concerns raised by local performers.

The controversy began when local artists, including Jonical Deeper and DJ Unique, withdrew from the upcoming festival at Lenyenye Stadium, citing dissatisfaction with the offered performance fees. Reports indicated that artists were promised R500 for their performances, a significant decrease from previous years. DJ Unique, for instance, was reportedly paid R1,500 for his performance last year.

Local Artists Accuse Touching Life Music Festival of Exploitation

Lenyenye, Limpopo — Touching Life Music Festival , scheduled for this weekend at Lenyenye Stadium, is facing backlash from local artists who allege exploitation and unfair compensation practices.

Artists from the Tzaneen area, including Jonical Deeper and Mr Unique SA( Calvin Temosho Rasethaba ), have withdrawn from the event, citing dissatisfaction with the offered performance fees. According to reports, artists were promised R500 for their performances, a significant decrease from previous years. DJ Unique, for instance, was reportedly paid R1,500 for his performance last year.

The controversy has sparked discussions about the treatment of local talent in large-scale events, especially when such festivals are backed by multiple sponsors. Tsaka Rsa apologizes to Dr. Prophet Tshepo.

A former self-proclaimed prophet, musician, and controversial Lekompo influencer, Paul Madubanya, popularly known as Tsaka RSA, has been seen apologizing to Prophet Tshepo in a recent trending TikTok video.

This comes few days after Tsaka went live on his page, insulting the Dr. Prophet Tshepo , his ancestors and bodyguards.

In the trending video, Tsaka can be seen being interrogated and punished for his actions. He mentioned that he was sent by someone to insult the prophet and he did that because of hunger. It has been reported that he is currently in the hospital, fighting for his life after being physically attacked by the Prophet Tshepo's Bouncers.

In this case, the prophet could be charged with kidnapping and assault if Tsaka decides to open a case against him. Regardless of what Tsaka has said, according to the law of the country, what they did to him is considered a criminal offense.

Karolo Portia Mohale whose well known as Poshy Gal used to be one of the greatest vocalist to ever come out of Bolobedu.

Queen poshygal Mohale once gave us hits like Piracy, Bese nkemele , monna wa december and leeto with king monada.

She was even regarded as the Queen of Bolo House Music however she did quit music after being married to a Pastor becoming Mamoruti.

Few years later she decided to come back to the industry even promised to give us album working alongside paradise music and waswa moloi music.

According to our inner source Poshy gal has signed a record deal with openmic lite Melodi Records which is said to be owned by Pat medina [Openmic's boss little brother].

Poshy gal even released ep "The return of Poshy gal " and Bese nkemele remake music video featuring mr six21dj dance under the same record label.

Her Ep which was released on 08th November 2024 features the likes of MR SIX21 DJ DANCE , Mr Brown ,DJ Questo and THE JOSH DJ .However the songs are well produced and mastered the Ep struggles to do numbers with all songs being below 1k views on YouTube .

Besides the record label struggling to promote and get Poshy Gal bookings we just hope this time around she won't leave us like before and will reclaim her throne.
