Beautiful advice

Self-esteem is your interpretation of yourself. Other people can influence how you see yourself. But, others cannot do the work of building another person's self-esteem. If you struggle with unhealthy self-esteem, try talking to a therapist about the source of your issues or determine what situations trigger self-esteem issues. And always, practice being very kind to yourself, even when others are not.

Remember, people mistreating you is NEVER your fault.

Such good advice! No "toxic positivity" here - and, as she says, sometimes we feel two things at the same time. Even during tough times, we can breathe, take a peek out the window to see the beautiful sky, enjoy a cool drink of water, and give ourselves a quick break.

Two things can be true. And you don't need to apologize for feeling more than one thing in life.

These are wonderful journal prompts as well. Writing your feelings down is a great way to lock in the lessons learned, and look back at progress made.

During times like this, it's natural to feel afraid, stressed, threatened, or anxious. But being consumed by fear causes wear and tear on the body, which actually undermines your safety. That's why it's very important to be able to find a place inside that feels calm and strong. And one of the best ways to do this is to notice that you're alright, right now.

To be safer, we need to decrease actual threats and increase actual resources. To feel safer, we need to stop inflating threats and start recognizing all our resources.
