Hi, I'm Kierra, and I'm so glad you're here. After kicking off summer with my four children and taking a little creative breather, I’m back to bring you what Practically Purchased is all about—intentional living, practical finds, and supporting the community around me (especially here in Midland!). Expect more real-life recommendations, home finds I actually use, and small businesses I truly believe in. Let’s dive back in together.

Happy birthday to the one and only ! I had no idea that learning Mahjong would lead to one of my favorite friendships in Midland. Melanie is the reason I stuck with the game, and she’s also the reason I’ve laughed a lot more this past year. She’s the ultimate hostess, a killer mahj teacher, and someone I genuinely enjoy being around. Cheers to another year of being forever 29! 🎂🎉

Why do I thrift? Because, finding a gently used designer leather handbag for literally 98% off at my local thrift store is the kind of thrill that never gets old. A little cleaning and conditioning, and it’ll be good as new—just in time for date night this weekend! ✨

Thrifting, estate sales, and buying secondhand aren’t just about the deals (though they’re amazing). They give products a second life instead of sending them to landfills. Slow fashion isn’t just elegant—it’s practical for both your budget and the earth. ♻️

Who else loves a secondhand treasure? Tell me your best find!

🎀 Rhodes Rolls Butterscotch Bubble Loaf 🎀

If you haven’t made this classic, you’re missing out! It’s gooey, caramel-y, and ridiculously easy to throw together. It is perfect to prep Saturday night and bake Sunday morning. I switched things up and used vanilla pudding this time—it was still delicious, but trust me, butterscotch pudding with a teaspoon of cinnamon is the way to go!

✨ Recipe:

- 24 Rhodes frozen dinner rolls, the standard size, NOT the Texas ones.
- 1 (3.5 oz) box butterscotch cook & serve pudding mix (not instant!), can also sub for vanilla cook & serve
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional but recommended!)

**Instructions:**
1. Grease a Bundt pan and arrange frozen rolls in an even layer.
2. Sprinkle the dry pudding mix over the rolls.
3. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the pudding mix.
4. Drizzle melted butter over everything.
5. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rise overnight (8-10 hours) at room temp.
6. In the morning, preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
7. Let cool for 5 minutes, then invert onto a plate. Enjoy the gooey goodness!

Would you try the vanilla pudding version, or are you team butterscotch all the way? Let me know!

December 1st marks the beginning of a season filled with warmth, joy, and cherished traditions in my home. Today, I’m welcoming the Christmas spirit with a luxurious holiday simmer pot—a simple yet elegant way to fill your home with the nostalgic scents of the season.

**Ingredients:**
- 1 cup frozen cranberries
- 2 vanilla bean sticks
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 sliced lemon
- 1-2 oranges (I used halved for added vibrancy)
- A handful of dried rosemary, lovingly grown and gifted by my dear mother-in-law. You can use fresh or dries!

**Instructions:**
1. Combine all ingredients in a pot. I'm using my coquette. Fill 2/3 full with water.
2. Bring to a gentle boil, then lower to a soft simmer.
3. Allow the enchanting aroma to fill your home, replenishing water as needed throughout the day.

This simmer pot is a beautiful way to savor the magic of the season, creating an atmosphere of cozy sophistication as we count down to Christmas.

I used to feel a deep sense of anxiety about inviting someone into our home to help with cleaning. I believed I had to manage it all myself. After the birth of my 4th child, I came to realize that asking for help doesn’t mean I’m falling short—it’s a necessary act of self-care. Though my previous experience with a cleaning service left me hesitant, yesterday’s experience with TidyUp! was truly healing. They cared for my home thoughtfully, were kind to my children, and made sure we never felt like an inconvenience as we were in and out during the day. The team paid attention to the smallest details and went above and beyond, resetting our home to a space of peace and order. Now, it feels like a sanctuary, and the road ahead feels much more manageable.

My find this morning at 🖤 I absolutely LOVE going to estate sales. The very first one I ever went to when we moved to west Texas was with Bluebonnet. Angie and Patsy are some of the kindest human beings, and their pricing is more than reasonable. If you want to know which estate sales are happening local to you, be sure to check out and download the app. You can search ahead of time to plan out which sales to head to on Thursday mornings. Fridays and Saturdays are typically discount days, depending on the sale. Happy shopping y'all!

I found one! This chore jacket is a vintage '90s Duxbak that I happened to come across on Mercari. I love the double pockets, duck print lining, and smooth brown collar—it’s the little details that make it perfect. I'm not big on following trends, still working on building a timeless, classic wardrobe that will last me for years, but I couldn’t pass this up. Growing up in Canada, I spent a lot of time riding horses when I wasn’t at the ballet studio. Putting on this jacket brought back nostalgic memories of early, cold mornings taking care of my horse, Rita. The best part? I paid less than current retail prices, even though similar styles have gone viral recently. My wardrobe will always be a mix of old and new, and finding vintage pieces, whether at estate sales or online, feels practical and sustainable.

This photo needed a permanent spot on my page. Quilting and sewing are some of my favorite hobbies. My quilting machine needed a repair that took some time, and while it was at the repair shop, I lost my motivation to work on any projects. Fast forward to this past week, and my "sewjo" is finally back! I was able to finish the quilting on this toddler size quilt. Now I'm just working on hand stitching the binding, and it will be ready to wash and gift away. Tell me, what is one of your favorite hobbies?

Hi, it's me. I'm still here. I took some time off from social media for my tenth wedding anniversary this past week and to reset. I've got a few fun things to share this week while my littles are on spring break, so stay tuned! -Kierra
